Ever wonder why you work so hard but aren’t getting results from your efforts?
It’s frustrating when you start a new diet or exercise program and you feel like you aren’t getting instantaneous results.
I hear this complaint from clients all the time, “I’m doing all the right things! I’m eating well and working out. So why am I not getting results!?!”
In my head I consider a few things when they say this…
How long have they been at it?
Have they really seen results and are just down on themselves at the moment so they aren’t giving themselves credit for all of their success?
Or are they REALLY doing the right things?
Yes, sometimes things don’t work immediately so we don’t see results immediately.
I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.
And yes, sometimes we do get down on ourselves and we don’t give ourselves credit for all of our progress because we haven’t hit our ultimate goal yet. So we ignore the progress we’ve made.
But honestly a good portion of the time the reason people aren’t seeing results is because they aren’t REALLY doing what they are supposed to.
Instead they get frustrated by their lack of results and start blaming the programs or third parties or other things outside their control because they don’t believe it is their fault.
And let me state right here and now that I don’t think clients are lying to me when they say they are “doing all the right things.”
I just think they don’t realize what they are ACTUALLY doing.
Let’s face it…Most of us don’t remember clearly exactly what we ate today let alone yesterday or the day before.
Sometimes I can barely remember what I did for a workout early that day when I make it home a few hours later!
So if we can barely remember what we do that day, how are we going to truly remember if we really did all of the CORRECT things that week to lead us toward success?
And on top of that, I think we make excuses for ourselves when we do slip up because it is easy to forget those mistakes.
I mean think about it…How many times do you say, “Oh this one cookie, this handful of (insert any not so healthy/high calorie food here), won’t matter”?
BUT if we started RECORDING our meals in a food log and TRACKING our workouts in a workout log, I bet we would realize that our “doing everything right” wasn’t so right after all.
We would see the little slip-ups, the little excuses we make.
We would realize that our “great week of dieting and exercise” wasn’t so great after all.
We would see the cold hard facts.
We may then begin to realize that the reason we aren’t seeing progress is because we haven’t truly made the drastic changes we thought we had.
So if you aren’t seeing results, take a second and ask yourself if you are honestly doing everything you can to get results.
Take a week or two and log and track your food and exercise.

Let those logs reveal some not-so-great habits.
Then make changes based on what you are ACTUALLY doing so that you can TRULY
