What can I say about Cori and Innovative Results that will do it justice? My life has changed. I have changed. I am so excited about the new me, I think I am annoying people because I can’t stop talking about fitness and how my body has changed, what size I am down to, the attention I am getting, how energized I feel, the latest thing we did in class and blah blah….!!! But there are a few that want what I have. Positive people focused on improvement. And so I am attracting what I am. Healthy, focused, energetic, motivated and mentally tough because of this experience.
I was a size 14-16 and sick and tired all the time, taking medication for acid reflux, gout, you name it. The solution to all of my health issues – nutrition and exercise. Basically, I needed to lose weight, get strong, and get rid of the crap that was making me sick. As a single parent, student in an MBA program, and professional in a high stress job, I had very little time or energy, and a mountain of excuses, all of them good ones. But what I didn’t have was my health, confidence, or the energy I needed to do everything I needed to do. I was DONE. I couldn’t believe I felt so old at such a young age. It was time for a change.
I started working out and changed my diet in May of last year. I lost about 10lbs and felt great. But I could feel my motivation waning. I had had so many false starts in the past. I’d go for two weeks or a month and then quit. I would lose focus, get off track and never get started again. I refused to let that happen this time. I asked a classmate, a Marine, if he knew of any good gyms in the area. I told him I was thinking of really stepping up my game and was considering CrossFit, but didn’t like the idea blisters, and the WOD’s just didn’t appeal to me. He told me I had to check out Innovative Results, his friend Aaron was part owner and that it was a great gym and sounded like what I might be looking for. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Way better than CrossFit and just what the doctor ordered.
I was concerned at first about the cost. But I went for a free class and was hooked. I made room in my budget for it. I cut cable. Who needs to sit around and watch TV when you are 40+ lbs overweight anyway? I felt like I didn’t have time. Well, I made time. The more I worked out at IR, the more I couldn’t imagine my life without it.
Cori is the best trainer in the world. I love her. She is the right combination of bully, friend, mother, inspiration, etc… She is tough enough without letting you hurt yourself. In fact I had some injuries, and when I went to the doctor, he told me her advice was right on, and to just do what she said. She asks me how I am feeling every day, and helps me focus on myself when the whole worlds seems to conspire to get me off track. But she doesn’t nag. She encourages me and supports me and pushes me. I could not have lost the 30 lbs so far without her. I am now down to a size 6 and getting stronger every day. I wish I had focused on getting strong years ago. It would have made being a single parent much easier. I have different goals now. I no longer just want to lose weight. I now want to be an athlete. I think I am in the best shape of my life and I am just getting started.
Thank you Innovative Results and Cori!!
