Irvine Personal Trainer Solves Your Weight Loss Resolution

December 31, 2016 by ptpt 26 Comments

GirlsLC_pagsIrvine Personal Trainer Solves the New Year’s Resolution, To Lose Weight, with Simplicity, Automation, and Delegation

By: Aaron Guyett

The idea is to win or succeed in all of your endeavors and desires, and if you lose or fail, learning should occur to win the next time. This idea and the novel idea that all that has happened in the past is done and over, it can only be used to make better decisions for the future and to create the “right” actions, thoughts and words in the present. I think more than making the “right” decisions is being happy with the decisions made. So there is a one question to ask yourself before you continue. If you want to win…what is the emotion or reason behind the supposed #1 New Year’s Resolution, to lose weight?

If the reason or emotion is deep seeded enough, and the visualization of your success brings about happiness, let’s make your dreams come true!

First, let’s simplify.

Losing weight is as simple as calories in and calories out. If this is true scientifically, you need only create thoughts, actions, and words to create a caloric deficit. How will you do this? Magic number 5:

  1. Write down your current situation specifically, with as many details as possible.
  2. Write down your goal specifically with as many details as possible. Now put away number one, and don’t look at it until March. Put your goal everywhere you look. When you see it remind yourself OUT LOUD what you are doing and why you are doing it (refer to the emotion or reason for the New Year’s Resolution).
  3. Know you can do it! (If you can’t get past this, than stop wasting your time reading this article)
  4. Become conscious of what you eat! (Write it all down. Everything that you put in you mouth liquid or solid, and know the calories) Journaling your diet is more of a mental task for yourself. If you don’t do it, hang up the resolution.
  5. Become active! Kill your TV, computer, (insert your biggest time waster here), and get outside and move! If you need help with this, email info@innovative-results.com.

Now it is time to automate.

Automation frees up time for you to do other things besides calculate calories and prepare meal plans. Two ways to do this:

  1. Get a trainer to do it for you. Email us at info@innovative-results.com
  2. Get an app (myfitnesspal is my favorite) and start recording your nutrition, hydration, and workouts. You will still need self-discipline. They will help you out, and it is free!

Last but not least delegate.

Delegation of your responsibilities, accountability, and discipline is a sure fire way to keep the flame burning bright and hot! 5 ways to delegate, what the delegation is:

  1. Accountability, responsibility, and disciplined can be delegated to a trainer and the trainer should help instill self-accountability, responsibility, and discipline.
  2. Family should hold you accountable to your goals. Be sure to describe the task they will be holding for you, because they love you and want you to succeed. If this is not the case with your family, fire them and make a new one.
  3. Friends should provide the same accountability systems as your family, if they are not on track with you, then your success should live with their uninvolved, unhelpful lives somewhere else.
  4. Co-workers cannot be fired, but they can be warned of the money that is involved should they adhere to your requests. Don’t have money? Tell them you are in a huge competition, and if you win you can take two people on a trip to the Cayman Islands. Hmmmm…who should I pick? (You might not win the competition, but you will win some hearts and minds for the time it takes you to get to your goal—maybe even some cheerleaders)
  5. Once you get to your goals you may rehire your lost family members, friends, and trainer for the spread of your newly acquired outlook on life. You did it!

The part about your trainer, friends, family, co-workers is critical. Everyone of these relationships has a critical impact on you, either to change you positively or negatively, or to hold you accountable or hold you back. In his book "The Season's of Life" by Jim Rohn, he talks about people whose families are stuck in a poverty mentality and the courage it will take to break away from that. Dressing different and sharper, adopting better habits, better language, etc…You will get made fun of at first, but surround yourself with people that you want to be like (make sure that what you want is full of character and good, not just something faddish) and you will have a much better chance of success!

I really like how everything is broken down into steps. It makes your goals look organized, more approachable, and doable.

If there is no emotion or reason behind anything you set yourself to do then what's the purpose of doing it?

Writing down your goals and putting them where you can see them every day is an amazing way to remind yourself why you should be pushing hard every minute.

My best friend created a passion planner and business is amazing. The purpose of the planner is to have everyone write down EVERYTHING especially their goals and passions. Writing everything down definitely make or break certain situations. In fact, sticking to a to-do list everyday has helped me so much since i started a few days ago!

These is a great post that cuts right to the chase. Friends and family play a pivotal role in one’s success over the long run. At the end of the day though all this change must stem within yourself and no one can do all the work for you. The steps outlined are brief and easy to follow for anyone wanting to make any kind of change.

To paraphrase Jim Rohn, success is a few good habits practiced daily, while failure is few small errors in judgement repeated daily. Accountability starts with yourself, so counting calories is so very important when looking to achieve fitness results. If you don’t know what you are putting in on a daily basis, how are you supposed to know what a plateau means in your training? Are you not sleeping enough, eating too much or too little, been doing the same exercises for 4 months and need to switch it up? These are questions only answered by keeping accurate logs of your activity. And don’t worry, inside a week or two, a month max, they will become habit.

Don’t know where to start still, overwhelmed by the entirety of what needs to change in your life and surrounded by all the wrong influences? Then join a gym like Innovative Results. And I know of no other like it in the area. The article exemplifies the virtues all the trainers have been required to learn, practice and demonstrate themselves, and are thus more than highly qualified to create an atmosphere in which your success is fostered until the completion of your goals, and likely the establishment of new and more demanding ones down the road.

I like the idea of putting away #1 and hanging your goals everywhere to see and remind yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing! Such a good way to conquer your goals.

Transfer your goals into writing and you have taken a major step towards accomplishing them! It is a daily reminder to stay on your path. Being surrounded by friends and family that keep you accountable is ideal, but this is not always the case. Therefore, you need to find the drive from within as well! You alone have the power to change your life, and when you continue your path, you will find others that give you unlimited support.

The idea of writing your down and seeing it everyday is a great way to remind yourself of why you are pursuing that goal. Always aspire to better yourself daily by physically telling the goal to yourself and remember it!
