” Losing 60 pounds and finishing my first half marathon well is enough for me to have confidence in my coaches and my fitness playground – Innovative Results.”

August 6, 2016 by IR Staff 2 Comments

When I first met, Anshika, she came off as smart, focused, and didn’t want to waste her time and money on a fitness trainer and fitness training program that didn’t work.

She has since proven how effective a solid fitness trainer, nutrition coach, and fitness training program can be with a smart and focused client.

Check out Anshika Rakesh’s story below:

running, runner, activity

When did you start training at Innovative Results?

I joined Innovative results around 2006 or 2007.

It’s so long that I don’t even remember…ha ha ha!

Irvine fitness training, Irvine Personal Training, Irvine Gym, Innovative Results, Orange County Fitness PlaygroundWhy did you start training with Innovative Results?

I had my first baby in 2005.

I had gained 70 pounds.

I did come back to my original weight which is 105 pounds, but was left with loads of loose skin and felt horrible.

My confidence had gone, and my stamina left with my confidence.

The regular gym was boring, and I didn’t have time to run everyday.

Innovative Results was a god send, and fell in love with their style right away.

Around that time Innovative results was a pioneer in its style.

All the crossfits and bootcamps that you see now, started much later.

What have you improved since you started training with Innovative Results?

I have had 2 pregnancies with Innovative Results.

I have not only come back to my original weight, but got back my muscle and body toned within no time.

My metabolism, sleep pattern, stamina has improved tremendously.

Losing 60 pounds and finishing my first half marathon in 2 hrs 20 mins is enough for me to have confidence in my coaches and my playground Innovative Results.

What keeps you coming back to Innovative Results?

The workouts at Innovative results are never boring.

I have never felt that I am doing the same exercise every time.

Everyday exercise regime concentrates on a different body parts like upper body, legs and of course bootcamp and crossfit style training is never forgotten.

How has Innovative Results improved the other areas of your life (i.e. work, relationships, finances, education)?

I have high tolerance to pain, have much more stamina, can be on foot all day, and am able to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and biking for longer hours.

What advice do you have for someone who is just getting started with Innovative Results?

Weight loss, lean body mass are goals that can be accomplished if you are persistent and consistent with your exercise regime and good diet.

So have patience, you will achieve it.

female torso and absHow has your life changed since you started training at Innovative Results?

I have become more confident.

I can carry myself in any outfit.

I love food and I don’t feel guilty anymore.

Who would you want to experience what you get to experience at Innovative Results?

All my close friends.

I feel whosoever is not part of this family is losing in a lot of things.

Why do you stay committed to your improvement in and out of the gym?

Stay fit and healthy and a successful runner with least aches and pains have always been my top priorities.

Plus the trainers at Innovative Results are so well adept with all new and effective solutions towards my goal.

How To Become a Better Person – A Confident Person at Home and at Work – Clay Shares His Innovative Results Successes

June 6, 2016 by IR Staff 1 Comment

Slow and Steady Wins The Race, slow and steady, progress, achievement, tortoise, turtle
“Slow and Steady Wins The Race”

Clay’s success and progress has been nothing short of INCREDIBLE!!

He has owned and walked out the slow and steady wins the race mantra better than most clients and students that I have had the pleasure of coaching and teaching.

This steadfast discipline and habit-building is what I believe to be the major reason why he has been able to reap so many rewards (beyond his original reason of looking better…which he has done quite well).

If you are looking to become a better person, with more confidence, and a whole slew of other looking better, feeling better, and performing better achievements, check out Clay’s interview here, and I will see you at Innovative Results – The Orange County Fitness Playground.

Innovative Results, workouts, become better, better everyday, next one best one, orange county fitness playgroundWhen did you start training at Innovative Results?

I began training at Innovative results in October, 2014.

Why did you start training with Innovative Results?

I went on a trip to Miami with a group of buddies and realized I was the most out of shape of the entire group, it was an eye opener for me. Corey just happened to come by my office a week later to speak about Innovative results and instantly I knew this was the place for me.

Strong, Stamina, Confidence, Orange County Personal TrainingWhat have you improved since you started training with Innovative Results?

I have gotten in way better shape.

Increased lean body mass.

Dropped a few pant sizes.

More importantly the training has strengthened me mentally and made me a more confident person.

What kept you coming back to Innovative Results?

I quickly got into a routine of training before work 3 times per week.

I arrived to work with increased focus and a little extra pep in my step.

There is also a camaraderie between the trainers and those working out, that little extra sense of peer accountability kept me coming back so I didn’t let the team down.

How has Innovative Results improved the other areas of your life (i.e. work, relationships, finances, education)?

This is where I have seen the biggest results, I am a better, more confident person at work and at home.

Lessons Learned at Innovative Results – The Orange County Fitness Playground

October 13, 2015 by Jessica Leave a Comment

yoga5By Aubrie Pohl

I’m strong.

I can stand on my hands and do more push-ups than most girls I know.

I can ride a bike for 100 miles and stretch my leg behind my head.

I have felt a fire smoldering within me my whole life.

One that has been yearning, fostering, and striving for a body that is capable of doing any physical task I come across.

I want to reach my greatest potential.

I’ve learned how to challenge my body in ways I’ve never dreamed of,

…but I’ve also learned something else.

My foundation was unstable.

I power through movements and use my shoulders and quads to overcompensate for the weaker muscles.

My right side is predominantly stronger than the left.

My push muscles are over trained while my pull muscles are barely trained.

I’m a yoga teacher and a personal fitness trainer.

I spend hours each week guiding others through the crucial foundational postures and movements.

I guide others to gain stability and mobility before they gain strength and power.

…. but I wasn’t listening to my own words.

My mind created a blurred concept of my own training program.

I was injuring myself.

My elbow, my wrist, my ankle… things were starting to ache.

I’ve tried so hard to accomplish fancy movements that I forgot about frequently performing the foundational movements.

I spent years lifting heavy weights but didn’t lift my ego out of its control.

So I reverted back to the basics.

I stopped trying to progress and regressed back to powerful, simple structural movements to create proper alignment, posture, and strength.

– STABILITY –2014-11-13 15.37.17-1

You wouldn’t build your house on an unstable foundation, so why build your body on one?

Exercise can be profoundly life-enhancing.

It is a very useful tool to filter your mind and attention towards achieving more success, happiness, and joy in your life.

However, it needs to be handled in a progressive manner.

A progression means to begin at the appropriate level that suites your present body and then steadily and safely advance once the body is ready.

For example, you wouldn’t want to perform an overhead lift if you are lacking the specific level of shoulder mobility to lift your arms over your head.

There are prerequisites that need to be met.

Stability and mobility first.

Find absolute acceptance where your body is presently at, and work through the freedom of the movement you have available.

Start with foundational movement patterns and develop coordination.

Make sure muscles are firing in the correct order.

Establish a functional range of motion and mobility.

Find complete stabilization and balance in those movements.

Learn basic postural support and spend the proper amount of time conditioning and strengthening the movement pattern.

– STRENGTH & POWER –core exercise - sidewinder

Once stability and mobility is achieved, the body is ready to stabilize a load and has the ability to work through force output.

Have a personal trainer assess you and scan your movement so you can safely progress to adding weight! (Hint: Innovative Results)

To quote Ice Cube, “Check yo’self before you wreck yo’self.”

Now the muscles have been trained to work together through the fascia and muscular chain.

You’ve created a strong, flexible structure that can now increase the power, the maximum force.

Your performance will steadily increase, without injury, because you created a stable foundation and followed a progression perfect for you.

As for me?

Well, I’m living proof of this lesson now.

My joints aren’t aching, the strength of my left side is quickly catching up, and I can now perform pull ups!

Do I Need to Get in Shape Before I Hire a Personal Trainer?

July 3, 2013 by ptpt Leave a Comment

I need a personal trainer in Orange CountyI was training a friend yesterday when she said to me, “I wish my hubby would start working out with you too.”

I said, “Well, tell him to get his butt in here!”

And she said, “He says he needs to get in shape first….”

I gave her the eyebrow raise and said, “Isn’t that why you go to a trainer? To get into better shape?”

She nodded her head yes, but it didn’t change the fact that he felt that way.

He was afraid I would murder him. He was afraid he would be embarrassed and that

I would be judging him.

And amazingly, a lot of people feel that way.

Fitness trainer in Orange CountyThey feel intimated by working with a personal trainer. They are afraid we are judging them.

Which we are….just not in the way they fear.

Let’s face it, no matter what your level, when you start working with a trainer, your desire is to become better/stronger/fitter than you currently are.

And we are here to help you.

We aren’t going to laugh at you!….Unless of course you fart really loud or have a booger on your face.

We are here to teach and to help you grow.

As trainers, we are going to offer you the support and guidance you need to achieve your goals.

So stop trying to get into better shape BEFORE you come see us. Because let’s face it, if you were going to get into better shape on your own, you would have done it.

Orange County personal training

Crawling Drills For Improved Core Strength From Innovative Results – The Orange County Fitness Playground

March 27, 2013 by ptpt 3 Comments

Give these 7 crawling drills a try, and watch your abs and arms get lean and strong:

The “Work Your BODY” Workout Move.

Functional and Simple.

Even a baby can do it!

orange county personal training, ankorr, crawling, harness, gym, fitness gym, orange county fitness gym, orange county fitness playgroundCrawling.

We did it when we were little.

But now?

Now we never crawl and when we do it seems ridiculously hard…especially crawling backwards (And the crazy part is… some of us even started crawling by crawling backwards!)

But crawling is probably the best core move you AREN’T doing!

When you do a tabletop crawl, you work everything down the front of your body from your shoulders to your knees.

So how do you do it?

1. Start on your hands and knees with your hands under your shoulders and your knees under your hips.

2. Draw in your belly button toward your spine and tuck your toes under and lift up onto your hands and toes.

3. Move forward by moving the opposite arm and opposite leg. So step forward with your left hand and right foot.

4. Stay on your toes and focus on keeping your knees close to the ground and your butt down as you move!

crawling, improved quality of life, crawl before walk, innovative results, mark crawls, mark elmasry, orange county fitness trainer

Crawling can be done forwards, backwards, laterally and even in circles!

Want a strong core?

Crawling is one of Innovative Results favorite ways to build stability, strength and increase body awareness.

Crawling is a contra-lateral movement, which is a fancy word for right arm and left leg moving together, while the left arm and right leg move together.

This is how we walk, run, swim, and bike from one place to another.

It is a great way to train your brain, and we have given you some crawling moves to train your body as well.

Enjoy these core, ab, upper body, lower body, and brain enhancing movements.

Try crawling today!

Fake It Until You Make It – A Fitness Trainer Story of Being a Top Player in Tennis Helps Clients Accomplish Goals

October 2, 2012 by ptpt Leave a Comment

blog-consequencesI faked it…

“Action seems to follow feeling, but really action and feeling go together; and by regulating the action, which is under the more direct control of will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling, which is not.”

– William James quoted in “How to Win Friends and Influence People”

I won almost every tennis match during all of my college seasons.

Was it because I was the most skilled player?

NOPE!

Was it because I was the best player?

NOPE!
Was it because I was the most fit player?

NOPE!

It was because I had convinced myself I could beat anyone.

I wasn’t born with that sort of confidence.

orange county tennis workoutI just faked it…until it became real.

Of course most of my teammates thought I was crazy and that really I just was that confident, but they were wrong.

I really had faked it until I started to believe it.

Now I am a fitness trainer, and I am helping Innovative Results clients understand and apply this same concept.

If you repeat something as truth enough times, you will start to BELIEVE it!

When I ran across the quote at the top of this post in my reading yesterday, I got super excited. I wanted to jump up and say, “SEE!!! I TOLD YOU!” (There was no one there though so I had to wait until now to say it…)

By regulating our actions, we can indirectly regulate our feelings.

wordsBy telling myself every day that I could win. By training like I was a top player. By walking and talking like I was great – I had made myself feel like a winner. I had convinced myself that I was.

So even though I came into college as the lowest ranked recruit in my year by ACTING like a WINNER even though I definitely didn’t FEEL like one at the start, I had BECOME a WINNER.

This is why you shouldn’t ever…I mean EVER…say the word “CAN’T.”

If you say you can’t do something, you will start acting like you can’t do it and you will feel like you can’t do it.

BUT if you tell yourself “I can,” and keep repeating it while ACTING like you can, you will eventually be able to do it because you will feel like you can do it!

changes this exitChanges don’t occur overnight, but your feelings will start to change.

It is all one big cycle.

You act a certain way because you feel a certain way, but if you change your actions, you will change how you feel.

So today choose who you want to be and what you want to accomplish.

Set a goal and tell yourself that you WILL accomplish it and start preparing and acting like you will.

Soon you will have no doubt that you CAN accomplish it!

What are you trying to accomplish this week?

Is there something you’ve been wanting to do for awhile?

**Leave us a comment and tell us what you’re training/striving towards.

Irvine Personal Trainers are loaded with fun fitness solutions!

January 29, 2009 by ptpt Leave a Comment

Forget boring hours on the treadmill!

Irvine is loaded with fitness options.

Health clubs, Mega Clubs, Boot camps, Yoga, Pilates, Fitness meetups, healthy restaurants, specialty stores and, of course, personal training.

But how do you choose an activity?

Which style of training is best for you?

Well, in my opinion, it all starts with your personality and goals.  For example, I am a very competitive person that thrives on challenges and pushing myself.  If I’m not a little bit nervous before a workout, then it won’t hold my focus and I get bored.  So, for me, traditional gyms or slow yoga classes are like pulling teeth.

I need something new, something that pushes me, and I prefer to have a crew of people that I can workout with, that push me and be in an environment that has lots of energy.

After 3 years in Irvine, I wasn’t happy with the gyms that were available, so I opened my own.  Its raw, exciting, and challenges people’s bodies and minds.  You can feel the environment!  Its not a place for people looking for a quiet place to do cardio.  This place was built for people looking for a challenge, people looking for real change, people looking to get strong and for people looking for an environment that feeds their need for team and change.

I think that anyone that’s competed in the past, misses the days of practice, working hard and going through tough times in order to attain something great!  Innovative Results has created that environment again!

Personal Trainer in Tustin Talks About Treatment of Childhood Obesity

November 20, 2008 by ptpt 1 Comment

Obesity treatment programs for children and adolescents rarely have weight loss as a goal. Rather, the aim is to slow or halt weight gain so the child will grow into his or her body weight over a period of months to years.

Early and appropriate intervention is particularly valuable. There is considerable evidence that childhood eating and exercise habits are more easily modified than adult habits. Three forms of intervention include:

  1. Physical Activity – Adopting a formal exercise program, or simply becoming more active, is valuable to burn fat, increase energy expenditure, and maintain lost weight.
  2. Diet Management – Fasting or extreme caloric restriction is not advisable for children. Not only is this approach psychologically stressful, but it may adversely affect growth and the child’s perception of “normal” eating. Balanced diets with moderate caloric restriction, especially reduced dietary fat, have been used successfully in treating obesity. Nutrition education may be necessary.
  3. Behavior Modification – Many behavioral strategies used with adults have been successfully applied to children and adolescents: self-monitoring and recording food intake and physical activity, slowing the rate of eating, limiting the time and place of eating, and using rewards and incentives for desirable behaviors.

Obesity is easier to prevent than to treat, and prevention focuses in large measure on parent education. In infancy, parent education should center on promotion of breastfeeding, recognition of signals of satiety, and delayed introduction of solid foods. In early childhood, education should include proper nutrition, selection of low-fat snacks, good exercise/activity habits, and monitoring of television viewing. In cases where preventive measures cannot totally overcome the influence of hereditary factors, parent education should focus on building self-esteem and address psychological issues.
