7 Ways to Beat STRESS – If You Are Busy and Overwhelmed Try These Ways to Eliminate Stress from Innovative Results

May 24, 2016 by IR Staff 3 Comments

StressIf you are anything like me, it is easy to get overwhelmed and stressed out.

With two kids, a wife, a business, and all of the organizations I am a part of, it is easy to unravel and stress out because my plate seems too full.

Owning Innovative Results – The Orange County Fitness Playground, is rewarding, but it also demands a level of hard work, focused intensity, and patient endurance, just like anything worthwhile.

That being said, running fitness training programs, coaching clients, leading team members, developing an online and community presence, and figuring out all of the tax, accounting, and business procedures to run a successful fitness gym takes time.

Busyness runs rampant in our culture, especially if you are working toward your own personal and professional success, financial security for your family, and setting up your kids well.

Baby smiling in bed with eyes closed and arms out.

Here are 6 Quick Ways To Beat Stress In Your Busy Day:

  1. Breath
  2. Move
  3. Smile
  4. Posture
  5. Help Someone
  6. One Thing At A Time

Let’s take a moment to go through each one, so we can reap the full benefits and rewards found, when we take a moment to de-stress from our busy lives.

1 – BREATH

Try it with me. Take a deep breath, just focusing on the air coming in your nose, and filing your belly. Hold it there for a few seconds, and then release it. Repeat ten times…

Wow! Don’t you already feel better?

For more information and techniques on breathing to reduce stress check out this video: “Stressed? Use This Breathing Technique to Improve Your Attention and Memory, with Emma Seppala”

2 – MOVE

Motion creates emotion.

Those that don’t believe me are welcome to try slouching, frowning, and looking down while trying to be happy, or smile, stand-up tall, put your arms up overhead, look up while feeling sadness.

It is extremely difficult to do.

Get up, stand up tall, move around, and think about all of the things you are grateful for.

Check out this video of Tony Robbins for an in-depth look on why and how motion creates emotions.

3 – SMILE

If you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed, try smiling through it.

It sounds cheesy, but it is amazing the power of our smiles. Try it.

And check out these incredible researched statistics on smiling from a TED talk by Ron Gutman, and our very own Aaron Guyett.

4 – POSTURE

If you are down, check your body…

Chances are, you are slouching, head is forward and slightly down, frowning, and your shoulders are forward and down…you might even want to be curled up into a ball on the ground.

Your posture is powerful to help us remove stress and anxiety, just like smiling and moving.

Check out this helpful TED-Ed video on posture for more benefits.

5 – HELP SOMEONE

Focusing on helping someone else improve their quality of life has an uncanny ability to improve our own quality of life.

It gives us purpose, and not having purpose is often the reason we are stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed.

Enjoy this uplifting video showing the power of helping people to change how we feel.

6 – ONE THING AT A TIME

When overwhelmed, I let it trigger my new habit of choosing just one thing to do.

Often I will ask my daughter to clean up her mess, and she immediately responds with, “that’s A LOT of WORK!”

I answer her by saying two things: “Guyett’s are not afraid of hard work, and what do you do if there is a lot of work, Hannah?”

She always answers with, “We do it one thing at a time.”

For more, read this Forbes article on doing one thing at a time, The Simple Trick To Productivity? Do One Thing At Once

7 – BE GRATEFUL

As study after study shows, it is impossible to be truly grateful and stressed out at the same time.

Being overwhelmed can quickly be replaced by gratefulness.

Watch this TED talk by David Steindl-Rast “Want to be Happy? Be Grateful.”

A quick recap of how Innovative Results beats stress in our overwhelming moments whether we are in the gym or outside of the gym are:

  1. Breath
  2. Move
  3. Smile
  4. Posture
  5. Help Someone
  6. One Thing At A Time

What Separates Those Who Achieve From Those Who Don’t? Another Look At Fitness Training Success.

blog-consequences

Discipline.

Now before you get disgusted, and click away from this article, I am guessing you clicked this article because you want to achieve something, and I am guessing it is something worth this read and worth the discipline that it will take to achieve it.

As I sat in church today, I started thinking about how everyone wants to achieve great things, yet we tend to settle for the cheaper versions of greatness.

For instance,

Instead of training hard to win a race, I will pay over $100 for a one hour race, where I will get a medal and a shirt anyway even if I come in last place (nothing shameful about last place, especially if you have never run a day in your life…you should be proud of finishing)

I hear potential clients tell me all the time how the $147 or more for multiple sessions (9-26 per month) of training at The Orange County Fitness Playground – which is exciting and well-planned, helping every person that attends them see improvements in the way they look, feel, and perform – is too expensive, but the same person won’t blink an eye at spending over $100 for a three hour experience of an obstacle race.

I have nothing against obstacle races or mud runs, and I have ran several of them, but the feeling of finishing one of those races and getting a shirt and a medal, is nothing compared to what you learn and experience after working consistently for over 100 sessions to achieve lasting health, fitness, and improved quality of life.

Eric Olson
E.O. With a Sea Monster

Looking better, feeling better, or performing better takes more than just  $100 and three hours.

Those who achieve have discipline, and those who don’t achieve desire discipline.

Those who don’t achieve live in excuses and immediate gratification.

Those who achieve understand that it is going to take daily habits and daily focus.

For those who achieve…THANK YOU FOR YOUR DISCIPLINE!

You are a great example to us all!

In a culture that upholds results, we often forget that it takes an ongoing process and journey that is fraught with challenge and difficulties, in order to achieve results that are worthwhile.

I wanted to take a moment to shine a light on what it takes to get those results–discipline.

The daily and weekly discipline.

Thank you for all of you who are trying again and again.

You are getting stronger every new attempt and every time you continue your effort in the process of daily discipline.

All of us at Innovative Results – The Orange County Playground – would like to take a moment to thank and celebrate our family members that have made their achievement, success, and improvement possible by being dedicated to the process of making health and fitness a habit.

These clients/family members have attended Innovative Results 100 times or more, and each of them have seen incredible results as a byproduct of their weekly discipline of attending our training program:

You are the example we all would be blessed to uphold!

Many of these clients above will say that they are not done with their health, fitness, success, and improvement, but every one of them will admit that their continued devotion to their weekly fitness training has improved their looks, feelings, and performance in all areas of their life.

Thank you so much for your example to the Innovative Results team, family, and community!

Thank you so much for continuing to pursue excellence, health, fitness, and improvement with discipline.

As I listened to the rest Tim Celek’s sermon on discipline at The Crossing Church in Costa Mesa, every bit of it rang true for me and for our team, family, clients, and community at Innovative Results, so I wanted to share his incredible insight beyond the walls of the church and invite you to watch it online here at http://www.thecrossing.com/. Below are my notes from the weekend…

weight loss Orange County, CACharacter is an outward reflection of an inward connection.

Discipline is doing what you ought to do, so you can do what you want to do.

  • Failure begins and ends with excuses.
  • Success begins and ends with discipline.
  • Discipline defined by Tim’s mom and dad, was “delayed gratification”
  • Disciplined people plan in advance.
  • Discipline puts us in a position to be used powerfully as a blessing and/or be blessed.
  • Too many people live by reaction rather than by choice of action.
  • Disciplined people do life around the right kinds of people.
  • Disciplined people live their day and life in bite-sized chunks.

onnitKBThis sermon was motivational, inspirational, and challenging for me.

I have watched discipline pay off with every client that embraces it, and I strongly urge every Innovative Results team member, family member, and community member to embrace discipline.

In embracing discipline, we will watch our relationships, health, finances, security, intelligence, and development steadily grow.

Those who achieve have discipline, and those who don’t achieve desire discipline.

If you have chosen discipline and continue to walk out the daily challenge of delayed gratification for something truly great…THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOME EXAMPLE.

VersaClimber Benefits for Your Fitness Training Program

May 6, 2016 by IR Staff 1 Comment

By Mark Elmasry

Mark and his sidekick, Mugsy
Mark and his sidekick, Mugsy

The VersaClimber is a great tool to use in a plethora of exercise programs, and there are many VersaClimber Benefits.

Most high level athletic training facilities are equipped with them, Innovative Results fitness gym has it for all of their athletes.

All fitness gyms and athlete training facilities should incorporate them in their training programs.

We incorporate it into our training program at Innovative Results fitness gym because it is a safe regression for any hard impact movements, it is an excellent strength building tool, it is an awesome recovery tool, and it can be used to train all three energy systems.

The first of the VersaClimber Benefits and the reason it is an excellent implement to your fitness training program because it is a safe warm up tool that will always be time efficient and effective.

Alli VersaClimberThe basic movement of the Versaclimber is a very natural contra-lateral pattern (an elaborate way of saying the opposing limbs–Right arm with left leg, and left arm with right leg–move together, like when walking, running, or swimming).

It requires a complex pattern of coordinated movements that we all practice as babies by simply crawling.

When you master that at a young age, we are never too old to keep practicing that rudimentary movement.

Moving opposing limbs like that is so beneficial for your nervous system.

This teaches both sides of your brain spatial awareness and basic neuromuscular grooving.

When you move repetitively like this in a low impact environment, quick or slow, you are training your lower body to keep up with your upper body and vice versa.

It becomes a pattern that you subconsciously remember; your “muscle memory” takes over, and is an athletic drill that can benefit every sport and activity.

Training with the Versa Climber has a variety of uses, specifically focusing on any of the three energy systems.

The Versaclimber can hit all three energy systems.versaclimber trip

It can be used in short, explosive bursts to deplete the phosphor-creatine system; which maxes out at about 8-12 seconds depending on the muscle fiber make-up and the level of conditioning of the subject.

The next energy system is the fast glycolysis system, or the lactic threshold.

Versa climber sprints from 15 seconds to up to 1:45 sec or 2 minutes are going to push the lactic capacity of your muscles ability to do work with making lactic acid as a byproduct.

Energy Systems The more you train that energy system the more potential your muscles have to do work without making acid as a byproduct.

You can train your lactic (fast glycolysis) system to be very efficient and keep your muscles working for a good amount of time as well as recharge for more work within a brief recovery period as well.

Last of the energy systems is our oxidative energy system which has an infinite amount of energy because it is the process of our lungs oxygenating our blood.

That process only stops when we stop breathing and our heart stops beating.

However, we can always train this energy system to be more efficient and the versaclimber is an awesome way to do so while cruising at a submaximal heart rate with very low impact force on our joints.

In summary, the Versaclimber is a great way to train both hemispheres of our brain coordinating this simple elementary pattern.

It is also one of the best ways to train our creatine energy system, our lactic energy system, and our oxidative energy system.

VersaClimber 3This is a must have for your fitness training gym, athletic training facility, and personal training program.

Check them out at http://versaclimber.com/ or come by Innovative Results–The Orange County Fitness Playground and use our three VersaClimbers and our two VersaPulleys.

The Benefits of Yoga at The Orange County Fitness Playground

March 31, 2016 by ptpt 2 Comments

By Mark Elmasry

Yoga will put balance into your life.AmandaC

Yoga takes mental and physical endurance that will come with practice. When you combine Eischen’s yoga progression with your daily routine your life will ultimately improve in many ways. Specifically your physical and mental well being will improve. It is the missing factor to complete our list of activities. This article is all about the benefits of yoga.

Specifically Eischen’s yoga flow, or any introductory yoga flow, will introduce the subject to a concise and simple progression.

The living, breathing, growing personification of yoga is the mental practice.

Can we stay in one place for an indefinite amount of time?
Can we learn to sync our breathing with our ever focused and controlled movements and intentions?

The epitome of this spiritual practice is learning to meditate and disconnect from distractions. If we can forget about our task list and our mobile devices for a successful hour of meditation and inward focus then we can achieve the mental aspect that yoga is trying to offer us all. The first item that any distraction will tear us away from will be the most basic involuntary movement in our body is breathing. Getting oxygen in and out of our lungs is essential for keeping our heart beating and our nervous system functioning as well as every other process in the body, but it is also the most powerful discipline in basic meditation.

We can all do a simple test right now.IMG_20150420_113021

Start by closing your eyes, after you read this, then focus on your breath for 5 long deep inhales through your nose with sealed lips followed by 5 even longer exhales out of your mouth.

When you opened your eyes and came back to this article, did you feel any different?
Did you feel more in control of your breathing and more care-free about your surroundings?

That is exactly what yoga is. Allowing the practitioner to ground themselves, bringing the stress levels down and regulate their stress hormone levels and clear their mind as they get more in tune and listen to their bodies.

The term for that breath is Ujjayi, which is the common thread sewing all types of yoga practice together. Yoga will only offer a progression in certain postures if your body agrees with them at the specific time you are practicing them.

IMG_20150420_114522

Every time we step into our yoga practice space, we start with a brief assessment of our bodies.

Eischen’s yoga begins with some simple postures to mobilize the joints and bring blood flow to our tissues as well as activate certain muscle groups that are necessary to hold a posture. His flow begins with the general quadruped pose progressing to a standing “mountain pose” and all of the fundamental yoga postures such as warrior poses and chaturanga flow. These are restorative postures that can be held for long enough periods of time to where you are in a meditative state allowing the specific cells and tissues needed to adjust.

Each yoga posture can always be altered to what your body needs that day and should be regressed to what is safe and healthy, completely avoiding pain and discomfort. Eischen’s progressions have the full gamut of restorative techniques and are all ancient yoga practice postures that encourage the entire spine, the shoulder blades, hips, knees, ankles, feet, elbows, and wrists to reset and receive good oxygenated blood.

When you put your body through that kind of a flow, you are rinsing out toxins from your organs and glands. Flowing through basic yoga progressions also opens up dormant neuro-pathways and promotes a healthier connection for your synapses helping out the entire sympathetic nervous system.

Every single person on this earth can benefit from a simple regression of these basic yoga fundamentals in one way or another. Whether it is mental clarity and a state of calmness that you receive from an elementary yoga flow, or that you breathe and explore how your body responds to certain healthy postures and benefit mechanically from unlocking certain movements in your body, we can all use it. I strongly encourage anyone and everyone, especially the more sedentary population all the way through to the highly active population to incorporate yoga in their weekly activities.

Ready to experience Eischen’s yoga, fundamental yoga, and additional recovery poses?

The Story of That Last Little Bit of Fat – Losing the Last Ten Pounds

February 23, 2016 by IR Staff 1 Comment

StressAaaarrgh!!

Why can’t the mirror just make it disappear?

And while I am talking about it, my pants would feel better without it, and don’t even get me started on how my shirts and blouses would fit without it.

When I step on the scale, it is still sitting there, reminding me of everything I don’t want to hear, see, or feel…

I have ten pounds of unwanted, undesirable, and un-removable body fat…I feel like I have tried everything, and it is still there, taunting me with its jiggly, bloated, bulging presence.

love handleHow do I lose the last little bit of fat?

This story has been told by all of us, and even though it feels like the last ten is stuck there forever, this does not have to be the story.

First, let me premise this story with the understanding that there is a necessary and healthy need for body fat, and it helps the male and female body look attractive. I am not here to help the person who is looking to starve and over-train every ounce of fat from their body.

I am here to help the person that truly has ten pounds (or more) of unnecessary body fat, which is doing more harm than good.

I am talking about the knee-pain-inducing, high-blood-pressure-raising,  heart-disease-increasing, depression-promoting, back-breaking ten or more pound of body fat.

We all see the shining light at the end of the tunnel. The shining light is where we have lost the ten pound baggage that has been weighing us down for too long, and now we are free to move, feel, and look amazing!

Fitness boot camp helps people get active

We know it is not going to be easy, and yet for some reason we want to hear someone tell us, “all you have to do, is keep doing what you have been doing, and it will gone.” or “Just do this one exercise for five minutes a day, and that little bit of fat will disappear before your eyes.”

Unfortunately, we all know this is not true, because we have been doing the same thing for (insert insanely long period of time here), and nothing has changed.

We also know that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing, and expecting a different results, yet it is so easy to keep doing our routine. Is that because we are creatures of habit? Yes.

What if we could make a slight change to our habits, and see a HUGE result?

enhanced-buzz-8548-1367336827-9Insert good news emoticon here, because we can!

Time after time at Innovative Results and throughout my time as a fitness trainer and fitness coach, I have seen the longest lasting, biggest transformations–especially with the “last ten pound club”–from those that stay dedicated to making small habit changes for good.

The three simple steps to lose the last ten pounds are record your nutrition intake (to include hydration), twenty minutes of relaxed, focused breathing, and show up consistently to an intelligent fitness training program.

Step 1 – Record Your Nutrition Intake, Which Includes Hydration

ir_3_nutrition_prepThis daily habit change, does not mean you have to go on a crazy diet, or fast with lemon-juice and ginger for forty days, or throw away everything in your kitchen, replacing it with fresh-picked hipster organic farm goodness.

Recording your nutrition is a way for you to teach yourself what you are eating.

Sounds dumb, but it is effective, which also means it is not dumb.

You would be surprised to hear that every single person I have asked to track their nutrition, has told me some rendition of, “Wow! I did not realize this juice had so much sugar in it.” or “Wow! A half a cup of rice seems so small on my plate.”

We live in America where convenience, incredible marketing, and big/more/bigger is the way of life, especially with food.

You can imagine how much help it is to add daily nutrition tracking of your food intake.

This small habit will completely change your life, and it is so easy to implement with smart phones and apps there is no excuse but to implement it today.

We recommend myfitnesspal, because it is simple, easy-to-use, and it is FREE! (we make zero money off of the promotion of this app and website)

Step 2 – Twenty Minutes of Relaxed, Focused Breathing

breathing techniquesThere are too many studies that recount the goodness and improvement that come from focused breathing, daily relaxation, prayer, and meditation, but I want to look at this time from a different perspective.

Think about this time as a reset button.

When your day is starting to choke you out, or last night’s lack of sleep refuses to be conquered by coffee, take twenty minutes to improve your mood, relax, de-stress, unwind, and focus on one thing, your breath, instead of the million things on your list.

If this turns into a twenty minute nap, than we know you probably needed more sleep anyway, which helps our metabolic and hormonal function.

If you keep thinking about all the things you need to do or want to do, bring a pad of paper, write it down and take care of it after your breathing time, and then refocus back on your breath.

This reset is crucial for your mindset during this time of change and renewed habits.

Every time you take twenty minutes to reset yourself mentally, you are also resetting yourself physically. Whatever mistakes you made or problems you had are now gone and in the past.

You are no longer weighed down by shame, guilt, or past habits.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life, and you have the opportunity to make a new you with a new day.

Step 3 – Show Up Consistently To an Intelligent Fitness Training Program

2016-01-12 10.11.51Showing up is the hardest part, especially if you have a million things on your list, or you don’t feel perfect, or you are feeling the darkness of the tunnel, not the shinyness of the light at the end of the tunnel.

Once you show up, all you have to do is join in the calculated exercise program, and you always feel better.

If the program is a smash-fest or it is variable and inconsistent, you probably won’t feel better, so don’t get sucked into these dark holes.

Seek out good coaching, encouraging environments, and tried and true methods for your exercise program and fitness training.

Whether it is one-on-one, group training, classes, or do-it-yourself exercise programs, make sure it is progressive, enjoyable, and helpful.

Progressive workouts build on themselves, instead of randomly putting together a bunch of exercises, and saying, “do it more and do it harder and do it more harder with intensity”…sounds weird, but because of our culture this is one of the biggest mistakes when trying to lose the last ten, because the stress of these workouts add to the stress of your day, and set your hormones up for fat-retaining failure.

Enjoyable workouts are going to be a personal choice, because where I see sweaty, disheveled mats with twisted figures hiding pain, many of you see a relieving, reviving, toxin-expelling, breath of fresh mobility, called hot-yoga.

Find something you enjoy, and stick to it long enough to build a deeper than paper relationship with the instructors and coaches that can only help you if they see you more than once or twice per month.

If we focus on these three areas as new, small habit adjustments, we will begin to see where our body and mind is most healthy in terms of body fat and lean body mass.

You will see that the ten pounds have melted away, and you have new lines, curves, jeans, shirts, and relationships that you never would have thought possible.

Your relationship with the mirror, scale, closet, pictures, and people have improved, along with your quality of life.

How to Keep Your Resolutions and Fitness Goals – Four Simple Tips To Stay With Your Fitness Training Program

February 10, 2016 by IR Staff 2 Comments

summer-beach-fun-wallpaperI see it happen every year, and so do you.

So many people get fired up and start their goals to conquer the World with their resolutions and fitness goals.

A lot of those fired up people have fallen off, and by the middle of February, every gym is back to normal, until many of those people realize they have to wear a swimsuit on their tropical vacation this summer (and by that time it is usually too late).

Anthony MansfieldIs it that each person that quits doesn’t lose 43 pounds in two weeks, so they decide it isn’t worth the time, money, nutrition tracking and fitness training anymore?

Is it that they started so intensely that they felt like they were wearing a body cast of lactic acid and soreness, and thought, “well that is horrible…this fitness training thing is not for me?”

Maybe it is that they were overwhelmed with their trainer’s broccoli, chicken, and cardio diet, followed by a lemon, ginger, asparagus, honey, and oatmeal enema, and then, here, take these 400 supplements…oh, and we haven’t even got into your power lifting program…

Whatever it is that coerced or is deceiving you or your friends into quitting, there is an easier way to keep your resolutions and fitness goals.

Feeling better, looking better, and moving better doesn’t have to destroy you, nor does it have to be complicated, nor does it have to cost you an arm and a leg.

Here is a simple four item list that you will be able to keep…for the rest of your life:

  1. Less is More
  2. Build Habits
  3. Restarting is Okay
  4. Do something, even if it is little, and do it now!

shutterstock_1341411291 – Less is More

It isn’t sexy, and it seems counter-intuitive, until you have talked to my longest-attending clients with the most significant fitness, body, and mind transformations.

Start with a daily walk for 5 or 10 minutes, and think about how you can fit this small time and effort pleasantry into your life for the next week.

As the weeks progress, so can you.

If you slowly added 30 minutes of daily walking the results for your fitness goals, improved health and improved mental-wellness are tremendous.

The same goes for nutrition.

Imagine replacing one unhealthy food item with an healthy food item, and you knew you could enjoy this change for the rest of your life.

Now, perform that once per month, for the next year, and you have totally changed the way you eat in two years, and the best part, is that you will be able to sustain this for the rest of your life…no more yo-yo dieting.

MLK_Jeff Climb2 – Build Habits

So much of the success that I see, is because the person built the habit of just showing up to Innovative Results fitness gym every day…no matter what.

At first, habit building is slightly challenging, but no where near as challenging as the person trying to lose 43 pounds in two months, while trying to finish a marathon before they turn 40, which is happening in three weeks…

The habit-builder sees tremendous change, not because they have a better fitness goal, or more motivation, or more energy.

It is because they are more consistent.

Habits are how we live our daily lives, whereas goals that are large, are seen as an end to something in our life.

Often goals are not achieved, or if someone achieves the goal, they stop doing the thing they need for their improved health, improved fitness, and improved mental-wellness.

You can tell me what happens next, after they stop…Back to the old way of living, that made them choose the fitness goal in the first place.

Anaheim Personal Trainers3 – Restarting is Okay

If you are feeling rotten about quitting or giving up, you don’t have to…it sounds too simple and too easy, but just start again.

If you exercise and improve your nutrition for a month, and then fall-off, and then start a month later, and then do it again, and again, and again…you have exercised 5 months more per year than the person that quit after the first month, and never started again.

If it sounds too simple and too easy, it is because it IS too simple and too easy.

Start again.

Today is the beginning of the rest of your life, and what happened yesterday does not have to define you today.

SteveStary44 – Do something, even if it is little, and do it now!

Seriously, motion creates emotion, and if you don’t believe me, you haven’t stood up, moved around, smiled, and laughed yet.

Try it with me.

Stand up.

March in place.

Slap your right hand on your left thigh, and your left hand on your right thigh, while you march.

Smile as big as you can, and laugh out loud.

Even if you are interrupting the corporate meeting that you are supposed to be paying attention to right now.

Do it now, and let this tiny bit of effort show you the great rewards that come from a changed life.

Looking to keep your resolution and achieving you fitness goals for Improved Quality of Life, look no further than the four simple and easy to apply action items here:

  1. 2014-11-18 20.06.49Less is More

How To Make Healthy Habits To Achieve Fitness Goals with Innovative Results – The Orange County Fitness Playground

December 19, 2015 by IR Staff Leave a Comment

Every year I see the same thing.10151298_10154652677210156_1928303503594648985_n

Every body and their mom joins the local fitness gym, or starts attending fitness training for the first time since last January.

They have the best intentions on their focused faces, ready to tirelessly drive themselves to lose those stubborn pounds, ridding themselves of their “big” clothes for good.

They sweat, groan, push, and work themselves into a fervor, depriving themselves of pleasantries, drinks, and carbs, so they can earn that body that deftly evaded them last year.

In their dreams they can see the toned, sculpted muscles. They can feel the sleek, sexy physique. They can smell the sweetness (or should I say sweatiness) of victory. They pick out the outfits in their minds, and sometimes even online. They’re emotionally high on the visions of goals, girls, guys, greatness, or whatever finish-line dream they have conjured up.Ninja-Shadow-2

And then it happens…like a ninja assassin on a d96207591063063698221625f7e9d61beark night…they disappear.

Gone like snow in summer, and where do they go?

Maybe there is a better question…WHY?

I will tell you, but you probably don’t want to believe me, because believing me, means you may have to do things differently this year (if you have quit your fitness goals and aspirations in the past).

Being in the fitness industry for over 15 years, and helping thousands of people last longer in their fitness goals and health improvements than the January fitness gym crowd, I have come to believe it takes more than a fitness goal or physical and mental
aspiration to make those sleek, sexy, sculpted body’s come to life and stay alive.

There are three layers to your healthy habit change, whether in fitness training or any other area of your life: personal, social, and environmental.

If you don’t have all of these set-up for your transformation, the probability of you leaving your local fitness gym or fitness training after a few weeks, goes up dramatically.

If you are joining Innovative Results – The Orange County Fitness Playground, we will help you systematically improve every layer of your fitness goals, mental attitude, and whole body-mind-soul transformation.

To understand how to make healthy habits, we will look at these three interconnected areas of your life: personally, socially, and environmentally.

Eugene Katchalov, It Is Never Too Late To Get Fit

December 10, 2015 by ptpt Leave a Comment

NoTimeExercise-EatHealthyLiveFit_ComYou often hear the excuses: “I’m too busy to workout” or “I’m too tired after my job,” as common rebuttals when asked why a certain person doesn’t undertake the recommended amount of exercise per week. And while some people do have extremely busy schedules, if you really want to stay healthy, you’ll find time to workout.

Fitness is a necessity for a good quality of life. Some find it later in life than others, but as soon as it becomes habit, you start to realize how important it is in all aspects of life. For people with sedentary pastimes it’s even more necessary that they workout, if they are sat at a desk all day.

When it comes to sport, not all pursuits exhibit the healthiest “athletes” in the world. You only have to look at darts, bowling and poker to see that their respective playing fields aren’t exactly filled with a landscape of Adonis’s. Once such player who was struggling with his overall health was Eugene Katchalov, a Ukrainian poker professional.gzP3cMsu

Katchalov was a steady player who had never really fulfilled his potential. And approaching his thirties felt that his health was affecting his performance. His diet was poor, and he wasn’t engaging in regular exercise, which had caused him to balloon to 230lbs.

But it is never too late to get fit by changing your diet and fitness plan, as Katchalov found out. In just 14 months he managed to lose 50lbs while putting on extra muscle as well. He turned his flabby physique into a shredded and slim looking body that he was proud of. But that wasn’t the best takeaways from his punishing fitness regimen.

After engaging in weight training, nutrition, and aerobic activities, the poker star started to see the benefits in his personal life and his performance at the poker table started to get better, too. The 31-year-old is now 121st in the global world rankings and is improving year-on-year.

Katchalov’s story has reached an audience far bigger than the poker world. His story has been recognized by many sports and fashion publications including Men’s Fitness and GQ. And although poker is going from strength to strength both as a sport and online, Katchalov sees this as the beginning as he encourages players to follow his example and change the way the sport is perceived by the public.

Online poker sees millions of people play every week across the globe. Websites have even employed live dealers to heighten the experience for players, so that they feel like they are in an actual casino, but it’s not healthy to be sat staring at a computer screen for long periods. Katchalov suggests interspersing gameplay with bouts of exercise where possible. The same goes for the professional circuit as the Ukrainian feels bigger breaks should occur with intervals long enough for people to workout in between games.

While Katchalov’s theories aren’t being adopted across the board, many people have seen the 31-year-old as an inspiration. He recently completed a well publicized 118km bike ride with fellow poker pro Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier and some other friends. The ride took them from Cannes, France to Sanremo, Italy all in aid of raising the profile of a healthy lifestyle for poker players.

Katchalov proves that regardless of your profession, there’s no excuse for being unhealthy. You just need to find the time to exercise and once you have designated that time each day, you then build your life around it. Age, gender, nagging injuries, work commitments are all common excuses we seem to fall back on when we don’t exercise. You should always endeavor to find a solution to a problem not erect a hurdle that doesn’t have to get in the way of you being healthy.

I Choose HAPPY Now – A Story About Choosing Happiness from Aaron Guyett

October 23, 2015 by Jessica Leave a Comment

CBAnnBy Aaron Guyett

What are you doing this weekend?

Me personally, I get the opportunity to watch my long time friend and business partner get married…and when I thought about it, I want to share my happiness choice with you.

I choose happiness now, and I encourage you to choose happiness now, too, not because of the good that will happen to you, but because you choose to see the good in everything.

Every dark cloud has a silver lining, and it takes an incredible amount of character to choose love, joy, and happiness even in those tough situations.

I am not saying, “don’t be sad, or sadness, frustration, and anger is not allowed.”

They are all emotions that we experience, and they are all valid.

I am challenging you to pursue happiness from the inside out.21651-I-Chose-To-Be-Happy

Pursue a new way to perceive your surroundings.

Believe the best in yourself and others.

Look for what makes you happy or grateful for yourself, your surroundings, and others in your life, especially your loved ones.

I would be willing to bet that there are many things you might be taking for granted that you can now show love, happiness, and appreciation for, regardless of how many “bad” things might come with yourself, situations, and others.

Smiling is a way we can all pursue this character in our lives no matter the situation.

Impact your life and the lives of others with a free gift: your smile.Happy (1)

Watch Smile Video here, and I dare you to keep a straight face.

Make your next hour your best hour!
