6 Ways We Improve Your Mental Toughness During Innovative Results Active Performance Training

May 31, 2016 by IR Staff 1 Comment

Check out the video below to see a small snippet of Innovative Results Active Performance Training.

Every person that trains with the Active Performance fitness training class, must try-out, which ensures each individual has less risk and higher reward.

6 Ways We Improve Your Mental Toughness During Innovative Results Active Performance Training
Tryouts are the first Tuesday of each month at 6am & 6pm

Once they pass the rigors of try-outs, which includes pull-ups, push-ups, deadlifts, front squats, VersaClimber, and jump rope, they begin the process of increasing their performance and capacity.

This is a very physical process, which is programmed and coached by the best fitness coaches in Orange County.

But believe it or not, it is far more mental than physical.

Here are the 6 Ways We Improve Your Mental Toughness During Innovative Results Active Performance Training:

  1. Progressive Training Programs
  2. Giving Your Best, Even On Your Off Days
  3. Positive and Intentional Coaching
  4. Positive Support and Friendships
  5. Safely Pushing Beyond Physical Limits
  6. Staying Committed and Consistent for the Long Haul

The amount of mental toughness that is needed to overcome the obstacles, excuses, and physical demands of the training cycles is far greater than the training sessions themselves.

We all experience doubt, fatigue, laziness, confusion, lack of focus, anxiety, and even depression when we move toward our improved quality of life.

Let’s break down the ways that mental toughness is trained with a little bit more detail.

Progressive Training Programs

6 Ways We Improve Your Mental Toughness During Innovative Results Active Performance Training
Crawl Before You Walk, Walk Before Your Run

By utilizing progressive training programs, you can build a strong mental toughness without being demoralized by an overwhelming program or training cycle. Training cycles should build upon themselves, not be so difficult that you can never complete them. This type of intelligent and progressive training programming is not found in most gyms and training systems these days. It is okay to be humbled from time to time, but if every workout or training cycle is so hard that you cannot complete it, the person will end up quitting not overcome mentally.

Giving Your Best, Even On Your Off Days

victoria anthony collage, mental toughness, strong, active performanceWe all have off days, and those are the hardest days to commit, come train anyway, and overcome mentally and physically. That is why it is so important to make the commitment and do the work. When we let off days stop us in our tracks, it can be a slipper slope. I am not saying overtrain, or train when you are injured…be smart, and give the best that you have for that day, which might mean dynamic stretching, mobility, and light aerobic work. It may also mean, digging deep and doing the hard work that today demands. Each situation is different, but quitting is never the answer.

Positive and Intentional Coaching

mental toughness, mentally tough, good coaching, Aaron GuyettA positive and intentional coach, knows their clients and students. He or she will make the right adjustments, hold back, stay silent, speak up, demand more, etc. depending on the student and situation. If you are getting increases in your physical and mental strength and endurance, than your coach knows what he or she is doing, if not, it is time to have a conversation with your coach. If after the conversation, the coach doesn’t change and neither do your results…find another coach.

Positive Support and Friendships

Ladera Ranch Personal Trainer, ankorr, zuu, mental toughness, mentally tough, support, strongI have never seen, not heard of a lone wolf make it in the wild, and I have also never seen a lone wolf type person make it in a difficult training cycle. We are social creatures, and we need to be pushed, challenge, encouraged, inspired, motivated, and moved by our support and friendships. Just because Rambo and Chuck Norris are awesome on screen, doesn’t mean it works in real life. This is real life, and we need support and friendships to do incredible things.

Safely Pushing Beyond Physical Limits

Ankorr, zuu, mason, innovative results, mentally tough, mental toughness, strong, crawlAt Innovative Results, we are very picky about how we choose to push people past their perceived physical limitations. We do not choose box jumps or heavy barbell lifts overhead…that is a recipe for disaster. We choose low impact, high results exercises like ZUU, Ankorr, VersaClimber, FRC, sled, prowler, battle ropes, and other body weight movements. This way we can increase force without increasing risk. It is important to take the body to a level that is beyond what the person perceives they can do, and then show them, it was their mind that decided that is where they needed to stop. In doing this, the mind and body is taught a valuable lesson. When the mind quits, the body quits…it is NEVER the other way around.

Staying Committed and Consistent For The Long Haul

Kettlebell Crew, Kettlebell Team, Kettlebell, strong, mental toughness, medals, medalThis is probably the hardest part of building mental strength. Discipline seems to be a bad word these days, but the rewards found after someone stays consistent for 100 training sessions, and ALWAYS INCREDIBLE!! Never once have I heard of someone saying they regretted working out three days per week for the last three years. Never once do I hear Innovative Results long time veterans complain of price and value. They understand the high value they receive, and they would probably pay triple what they pay to receive the training they earn every week.

May your next week be your best week, and may your mental toughness sore after reading these 6 tips.

The Busy Working Mom Workout and How Rebecca Toned Up

May 26, 2016 by IR Staff Leave a Comment

Orange County gym that helps people get results Rebecca had just given birth to her 3rd child and had 48 pounds to lose.

She was working full time, and involved in three community organizations.

Needless to say, she was a busy working mom.

She dropped about 32 pounds by diet adjustments and running alone.

She had done this before just after her first pregnancy – dropping 70 pounds!

But this time, Rebecca was having a hard time dropping the last 13-15 pounds.

She was a little older, and her time was more cramped.

She now was a working mother with one set of 4 year old twins and a newborn baby boy.

She also knew starting a fitness training program was going to take commitment and dedication – and that it wasn’t going to be easy.

To drop the weight and get toned Rebecca knew that a fitness training program would be difficult but worth it.

Check out Innovative Results, Rebecca’s busy working mom workout solution…

She wasn’t looking for a quick fix – she was looking for a solution to tighten her body and lose the weight.

Rebecca chose Innovative Results as her busy working mom workout, and hasn’t looked back since.

before after collageSince working with Rebecca she has lost 15 pounds, and she fits back into your ‘skinny jeans’.

Rebecca mentioned that she fits into the clothes she wore when she lost the weight of her first pregnancy – but now she weights 4 pounds heavier?!

“It’s not all about the number on the scale…I fit into my jeans that I wore when I weighed 114 – I weight 118 now – but I’m not ‘skinny fat’, I’ve developed tone. People get too freaked out about the scale… it’s all about the measurements,” states Rebecca.

Rebecca, like countless others that have come to Innovative Results, experiences the value of our training program with the way she looks, feels, and performs.

She loves being able to show up to her fitness training program, and have intelligent and caring fitness trainers build a program that delivers results every time.

She hates being in the limelight, and I wish I could show you pictures of her transformation.

However, we respect our client’s wishes at Innovative Results, so we can only tell you about her amazing success with us, showing you pictures of many of our other fitness clients’ before and after transformations.

Needless to say, you will be in great hands when you start training at The Orange County Fitness Playground.

6 Keys to Improving Your Physical Health

April 3, 2016 by ptpt 1 Comment

By Aubrie Pohl

-A constant lethargic feeling.lethargic
–Achy joints and tired muscles.
-A lack of motivation and desire.
-Sitting down for more hours than standing.
-Feeling like you are capable of so much more.

These are all characteristics of a less-than optimal health.

Our physical state of health can affect every aspect of our life.

Human bodies are incredible.

Do you ever think about how much your body loves you?

Your body is always adapting and accommodating to the situation at hand.
Constantly healing.

Constantly trying to make your life easier for you.

It will get strong if you start strength training.

It will continue to breathe when you don’t even think about breathing!

However, our bodies will only work at their optimal level if we do our part to keep them in the healthiest condition that we can.

There are many ways of improving your physical health, so we can make great steps towards an improved quality of life!

Here are the 6 Keys to Improving Your Physical Health:

1. Movementvictoria anthony collage

We are born to move.

Our bodies love movement.
Without it, our joints ache, our bodies inflame, and we experience pain and weakness.

With every push, pull, reach, stretch, twist, jump, lift, and dance our bodies reciprocate and strengthen, lengthen, expand, open, and grow towards their greatest potential.

Most of our modern day jobs require us to sit for hours at a time, performing robotic motions and allowing our bodies to be stagnant. But they yearn for the freeing sensation of muscles contracting and expanding, of giving and receiving.

Encourage yourself to move on a regular basis, freely and openly, in whatever way feels best.

Even if that means circling your shoulders in line at the grocery store.
Stretching your legs while watching TV.
Twisting your spine as you lay in bed.
Moving your body is always an option.
Feeling better is ALWAYS an option.

2. Nutrient rich, Unprocessed, Living Foods.binderlayingopen_550x634

Your body takes the food you eat and breaks down the food into the macronutrients and micronutrients you need, then reassembles those into your cells to provide you with the energy that allows you to thrive and grow towards your optimal being.

However, your body is only as efficient as the material it has to work with.

The quality of food you send into your body can have a powerful effect on your mental clarity, your ability to perform, and your overall function.

The “Standard American Diet”, also known as SAD…. is sad!

Highly processed foods and a portion distortion leave our bodies critically short of nutrients our bodies crave.
Everybody is different, but we all have an intuitive wisdom that allows the fibers of our being to send us signals of true wellness.
Notice the way your body and energy levels respond after eating certain foods.

So what should you eat?

Eat foods with no labels.
More nutrient dense fruits, vegetables, lean meats.
Less sugary, carbohydrate dense processed foods.
Shop only around the perimeter of the grocery store.
Eat without distractions and notice how foods make you feel.
If you see a food that is not something your great-grandparents ate when they were young, disregard it.
Drink water all day, every day.

After all, a healthy outside starts from the inside.

3. Sunshinesun

A little sunshine every day can boost your mood and serotonin levels, our happy hormone.

If we allow our bodies to absorb a healthy amount of Vitamin D through the sun, we can prevent illnesses that occur from Vitamin D deficiency.

The sun also warms our muscles to reduce inflammation and stiffness.
a small 15 minute walk through the sunshine can do wonders for your body and mind!

Your body will tell you when you’ve had enough sun, turning a shade of pink or feeling warm to the touch.

So go outside for a healthy amount of sun and feel healthier!

4. Sleep

Our hasty, task-filling lifestyle has the ability to distract us from getting enough sleep.
We get caught up in our busy lives, and sacrifice sleep to get more things done.

Our body revitalizes itself during sleep.
Sleep is as vital to sustaining a healthy, energetic life as eating, drinking, and breathing!

Allow your body a restful night and experience yourself feeling attentive, refreshed, and more prepared to challenge your day, so you can live your full potential.

Even a short nap during the day can reinvigorate your system to take on the rest of the day!

Develop an intimate relationship with your body to discover the amount of sleep that you need, and feel your energy increase!

5. Less Chemicals

Living a life with less chemical additives can have a profound effect on your well-being.

Hand soap, shampoos, perfumes, make up, lotions, deodorants, air fresheners, and many other products can potentially contain dangerous chemicals that can disrupt your body’s functions.

As you educate yourself about what products your body is absorbing, you will be able to make conscious decisions on how to lessen the amount of toxins you take in and discover better-for-you options.

6. Positive Actions

Instilling our actions in forward momentum will allow us to continue on a path of self-transformation and success to make our lives more meaningful and satisfying.

By taking the right steps in the right direction, positive actions become intentional activities that manifest more motivation, happiness, and improved life conditions.

Mindfully build good habits, pursue goals, endeavor to live the life you have imagined and you can confidently move in the direction of your highest potential!

In fact, a change of behavior can alter how we think and feel.

Even our poses and demeanor have the potential to change the chemical make-up of our bodies.
Smile and you will feel happier!

Stand tall with your chest out and you will assert confidence!

At any moment, you have the power to construct your decisions and actions towards an improved quality of life.

The Benefits of Yoga at The Orange County Fitness Playground

March 31, 2016 by ptpt 2 Comments

By Mark Elmasry

Yoga will put balance into your life.AmandaC

Yoga takes mental and physical endurance that will come with practice. When you combine Eischen’s yoga progression with your daily routine your life will ultimately improve in many ways. Specifically your physical and mental well being will improve. It is the missing factor to complete our list of activities. This article is all about the benefits of yoga.

Specifically Eischen’s yoga flow, or any introductory yoga flow, will introduce the subject to a concise and simple progression.

The living, breathing, growing personification of yoga is the mental practice.

Can we stay in one place for an indefinite amount of time?
Can we learn to sync our breathing with our ever focused and controlled movements and intentions?

The epitome of this spiritual practice is learning to meditate and disconnect from distractions. If we can forget about our task list and our mobile devices for a successful hour of meditation and inward focus then we can achieve the mental aspect that yoga is trying to offer us all. The first item that any distraction will tear us away from will be the most basic involuntary movement in our body is breathing. Getting oxygen in and out of our lungs is essential for keeping our heart beating and our nervous system functioning as well as every other process in the body, but it is also the most powerful discipline in basic meditation.

We can all do a simple test right now.IMG_20150420_113021

Start by closing your eyes, after you read this, then focus on your breath for 5 long deep inhales through your nose with sealed lips followed by 5 even longer exhales out of your mouth.

When you opened your eyes and came back to this article, did you feel any different?
Did you feel more in control of your breathing and more care-free about your surroundings?

That is exactly what yoga is. Allowing the practitioner to ground themselves, bringing the stress levels down and regulate their stress hormone levels and clear their mind as they get more in tune and listen to their bodies.

The term for that breath is Ujjayi, which is the common thread sewing all types of yoga practice together. Yoga will only offer a progression in certain postures if your body agrees with them at the specific time you are practicing them.

IMG_20150420_114522

Every time we step into our yoga practice space, we start with a brief assessment of our bodies.

Eischen’s yoga begins with some simple postures to mobilize the joints and bring blood flow to our tissues as well as activate certain muscle groups that are necessary to hold a posture. His flow begins with the general quadruped pose progressing to a standing “mountain pose” and all of the fundamental yoga postures such as warrior poses and chaturanga flow. These are restorative postures that can be held for long enough periods of time to where you are in a meditative state allowing the specific cells and tissues needed to adjust.

Each yoga posture can always be altered to what your body needs that day and should be regressed to what is safe and healthy, completely avoiding pain and discomfort. Eischen’s progressions have the full gamut of restorative techniques and are all ancient yoga practice postures that encourage the entire spine, the shoulder blades, hips, knees, ankles, feet, elbows, and wrists to reset and receive good oxygenated blood.

When you put your body through that kind of a flow, you are rinsing out toxins from your organs and glands. Flowing through basic yoga progressions also opens up dormant neuro-pathways and promotes a healthier connection for your synapses helping out the entire sympathetic nervous system.

Every single person on this earth can benefit from a simple regression of these basic yoga fundamentals in one way or another. Whether it is mental clarity and a state of calmness that you receive from an elementary yoga flow, or that you breathe and explore how your body responds to certain healthy postures and benefit mechanically from unlocking certain movements in your body, we can all use it. I strongly encourage anyone and everyone, especially the more sedentary population all the way through to the highly active population to incorporate yoga in their weekly activities.

Ready to experience Eischen’s yoga, fundamental yoga, and additional recovery poses?

Keys To Living Your BEST LIFE – A Real Life, True Story From Owner of Innovative Results

August 10, 2015 by Jessica Leave a Comment

By Aaron GuyettIMG_20150701_194013

We are free to make whatever choices we decide, but we are not free from their consequences.

It is our choices that hold the keys to our best life.

Whether it is faith, love, fitness, or feelings, we have much more choice than we think.

Sure there are a lot of things we don’t control, like weather, how other people see us, geo-political climate, and what other people decide, but we control our choice.

That is one of the greatest powers we own, but there are many of us, that have chosen to be the victim.

They have decided to blame the things that happen to them, the way they feel, their lot in life on everybody and everything that happens to them, instead of doing the hard yet rewarding work of taking responsibility for their thoughts, actions, words, and choices.

This is why Innovative Results – The Orange County Fitness Playground – has adopted the “Next one, best one.” Mantra.

We understand that if we make the best choices we can with what we are given, and deliver our very best in each of those choices, they will turn into our best skills, and those skills will turn into our best habits, and those habits will become our best character, improving our quality of life.

Best Choicesblog-consequences
Become
Best Skills,
Which become
Best Habits,
Which become
Best Character,
Which becomes
Your Life.

Once I understood this concept, I began to see it everywhere in my life.

I see it in all of my relationships.
I see it at work.
I see it in my marriage.
I see it in my family.
I see it in my community

Most of the time, people are looking to blame their misfortune on others or on things out of their control, yet they have no problem staking claim to any bit of success they experience.

Do you see the flaw in the formula?

There is a fundamental flaw in the formula that states everything bad is not my fault, but everything good is all me!

The flaw is a lack of responsibility for the consequences of one’s choices.

Let’s look at marriage.IMG_20141127_124946

When I was dating my wife, there was fireworks! Everything was AWESOME!! (Que the Lego Movie theme song)

For the first few years together, we could do no wrong, but when the romance wore off, I noticed every white spot on the mirror, missing sock in my drawer, and all the other issues I was blind to because of romantic love.

When romance wears off, do we blame the other person or the situation or the things in our lives for the love that is slipping away? (I have done this and I know many of you have done this as well)

But the hard truth is… No.

It isn’t her fault, any more than it is the white speck on the mirror’s fault.

If I want to experience love, I MUST CHOOSE LOVE!

If you want to experience anything worthwhile you must choose it!

Love is a Choice.keep-calm-you-get-what-you-give
Beliefs about people are a Choice.
Beliefs, period, are a Choice.
Faith is a Choice.
Patience is a Choice.
Hard Work is a Choice.
Focus is a Choice.
Health is a Choice.
Fitness is a Choice.
We Decide.

Either I choose love, or I decide to not choose love—every day.

Anything worthwhile will come with a difficult choices, and a very REWARDING CONSEQUENCE.

After choosing something like love after the romance wears off, there are things we must believe, do, think, and have faith in, in order for it to work.

To build the character of a loving husband, I am going to have to proceed with effort and discipline:

• I am going to have to focus on my wife, and meet her needs emotionally and physically.
• I am going to have to believe the best about her in all that she is saying and doing.
• I am going to need faith that she will reciprocate this love on some level or another.
• I am going to need patience when she does not meet my expectations (communicated or not).
• I am going to have to work hard, and even fight for our love and marriage when times get tough.
• I am going to need to be healthy, fit, and clean for her, as a sign of respect and physical love.
• I am going to need to do all of this consistently and intentionally, so she trusts me.

When all of the above is done well, we call that diligence toward love.

The awesome part is that we can do this in any area of our life.

Fitness, Health, Nutrition, Business, Finances, Emotions, Relationships, Faith, Love or Beliefs.

We have more power than most of us choose.
**Be Warned: Once you choose to take responsibility for your choices you may experience happiness, contentment, success, and all other consequences that come with your choices.

Again, Here are the keys to living your BEST LIFE:

• What are you choosing today for your best life?
• What do you need to focus on for your best life?
• What beliefs do you need to have your best life?
• What do you need to have faith in for your best life?
• What do you need to work hard at in order to realize your best life?
• What do you need to have patience with in order to realize your best life?

free2choose

Now diligently pursue your best life every day in every way that you have given yourself the power to do by answering the above questions.

Your diligent hard work, focused intensity, and patient endurance will be rewarded.

Next one, best one!

Who is Your Present Self

July 12, 2015 by Jessica Leave a Comment

By Aubrie Pohl

In a world of pictures of the past and calendars of the future, of planning ahead before we plan today, are we spending enough time to connect to our present self?

At this very moment, there is a self-reflexive awareness within you, able to connect to simply who you are right now.

Your present self allows you to be right where your feet are, and this will undoubtedly enhance your life and your relationships.

IMG_20150420_112944
Breath and Connect with your Present Self

Presence helps us be more effective in our jobs, in our abilities to connect with one another, and conditions us to stay focused on the acceptance of whom and where we are in life.

Every individual has a different way of interpreting the world, and your present cognitive structure can greatly influence your mind and its ability to perceive.

Sometimes what’s going on in your head will affect every output of your body!

For example, are you going to have a better work out if you arrive to your training session with dread and monotony, or with enthusiasm and encouragement?

Our human minds keep the perpetual stream of thoughts running amok 24/7… but we have the ability to recognize and differentiate thoughts that are constructive or destructive.

You can THINK about your THOUGHTS!Karyn_Daniel

It is easy to become subject to our feelings, but when we check in and observe the internal world that is within us, our present self is able to discern if our thoughts are helping or hurting us.

At any given moment in time, we have the ability to see reality in the present, as it is, and act accordingly in a way that is prosperous to improving the quality of our life.

Your present self can be the greatest motivator or the greatest inhibitor of your goals, it’s your call.

Allow yourself to keep tuning in to the voice inside your head, and let your present self decide if your patterns of thoughts at that moment are uplifting or self-sabotaging.

Your external behaviors will become reflective of your thoughts and will ultimately impact your life.

See the drastic improvements in your workouts, your relationships, and your self-concept when you remove the gross impurities of your mind in favor of generating a little more happiness and acceptance for who you are right now.

Take the time to focus not on what you have done, or been, or accomplished, but instead acknowledge the beautiful creation of your present self.

Jeremy came to Innovative Results back in the Summer of 2013.  His consistency, dedication has brought him incredible results, and the IR Family is so thankful and proud to have him here at the IR Facility!

I started training at Innovative Fitness in July of 2013, weighing in at 305 lbs. I started off slowly, coming in two or three times a week, building up my endurance. One of the movements that gave me the most trouble was crawling. (If you have spent anytime training here, then there is no doubt that you have had pleasure of reliving your childhood too. And by childhood I mean trying to remember how it was so easy to crawl around on the floor for extended periods of time.) As I started to lose weight, I began to notice that exercising was getting easier, but my difficulty with crawling continued.

For my one year anniversary, I weighed in at 260lbs, dropping 45 pounds, three inches from my waist and increased my stamina enough to work out five times a week. Even with all of this improvement, I was still struggling with the crawls. Around this same time, I was given the opportunity to interview for a dream job that I had been preparing for over the last several years. The interview process took several weeks to complete, during which I was talking with Corey, Mark and some training buddies about the opportunity. One of the IR challenges at that time was the 10 minute crawl. I remember thinking that it must be some kind of joke, and who in the heck would want to take that on. But one day the following week, I made a bet with Corey, that if I were to get the job I would take the challenge. One of my buddies said he would too and Corey, being the crazy man that he is, said he would crawl for 30 min! As luck or fate would have it, I landed the position but now I had to pay up. I took me about a month before I had the courage to take it on. I had my doubts about being able to complete the 10 minutes, but I gave my word and finally came in one Saturday morning to pay up.

I remember thinking there is no way I can do this. Corey’s famous last words before we started were, “It’s all in your head, man, just keep moving and you will be fine.” As we began, I thought about that for a couple of seconds and decided to buy in. I would be a liar if I said that it was easy or that I was able to crawl the whole ten minutes without my knees touching, but I did get in a good 2 minutes of correct position crawling (which is huge for me) and never stopped moving or took a break. Once the ten minutes was up I stopped and watched Corey and Rob continue to crawl. That’s when the challenge part 2 was issued.

Rob and Corey both encouraged me to join them continue to crawl. So, I did. I lasted another six minutes before total exhaustion and having raw knees from the green turf. A few days later I was thinking about the entire process and a new understanding of Corey’s statement hit me like a ton of bricks. Taking on challenges is 100% mental. People tend to be risk averse and generally don’t like risk because they think they can’t complete the task. This type of thinking defeats the whole purpose of taking on a challenge in the first place. By definition, a challenge is something that is supposed to be difficult to complete. If there is no difficultly or doubt then there is no challenge. By combating this doubt and attempting any challenge, one builds self-confidence and willingness to take on even more difficult tasks. Much like a downward spiral that people often experience in life, one can also experience an upward progression. The difference is, we are 100% in control of the upward and can start it at any time.

I don’t think Corey, has a degree in philosophy or is a motivational speaker but he definitely inspired me think a little bit differently about things lately. Crawling is still a physical challenge but I am getting better and now know that I do have the physical capacity for that kind of challenge. Who knows maybe on my 2 year anniversary, I’ll do the Corey special and go for 30 minutes too.

Alli Found Comfort in the Unconventional

Alli VersaClimber

I started working out at IR in August (2013) and was instantly hooked on their workouts.

I found them(IR) through my BF who loves coming here. He would come home telling how he pulled sleds, towed chains, and all these other crazy workouts. I thought he was crazy! I would imagine a bunch of egotistical meat heads working out and was convinced I couldn’t do it. He would always ask me if I wanted to go and my first thought was NO!! I’m 5’4 and 115lbs. My idea of working out is doing Bikram Yoga 4 days a week. I’m not a strong person at all so I finally decided to give them a try.

Ali_PatI will say I was initially really intimidated and pretty much convinced myself I wouldn’t be able to hang. I feel silly now for having those thoughts. The staff here is top notch. They really work with you and finds accommodations if you don’t feel comfortable doing something. They push you, but not to where you will hurt yourself. I feel so much stronger. I’m actually doing those crazy workouts my bf was bragging about.

I really have to thank the staff for being so patient with me. IR is hands down the best gym I have ever come across.

Ladies, do yourself a favor and call them.

YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Thank you for sharing your inspirational story Alli!!

Attitude IS Everything for Looking Better, Feeling Better, and Moving Better

just-tired

By Aaron Guyett

I understand that my health is declining, because I feel physical lethargic and sleepy, and my doctor is telling me I have these issues.

I feel sad, depressed, angry, and frustrated that I have these physical obstacles that are keeping my from enjoying a satisfying and improved quality of life.

I am not walking, working out, eating well, or sleeping well, and my time is primarily devoted to work or family.

These three statements above stipulate my attitude, which is doubtful about the opportunity to improve my quality of life; therefore, I will not be pursuing a change, and I am a victim.

“An attitude is a mental state that exerts influence over an individual’s behaviors. Attitudes have three components: (1) a cognitive component, which refers to a concept; (2) an affective component, which is emotion; and (3) a behavioral component, which is the readiness to act.”[1]

One small change in attitude, may lead to bigger changes in systemic issues throughout society.

If obstacles were seen as opportunities for growth, development, and life-experience that produce courage and hope.

If conflict was seen as a rich relationship aspect that built integrity, honesty, trust, communication, and a chance to be open to new ideas, while still remaining passionate about our own ideas.

If commitment were not just a good-intention, but a sound call to great accountability and epic forgiveness.

If hard work, focused intensity, and patient endurance were values that drove the positive attitudes of us all toward something bigger than ourselves.

My friend illustrated at the beginning would no longer be a victim, but a person that takes joy in the arduous, but life-giving process of change.
