There are no WODs at Innovative Results

July 9, 2013 by ptpt 2 Comments

WOD means “workouts of the day.”Boot Camp Fitness Class

We don’t do WODs.

That doesn’t mean our workouts aren’t hard and that we don’t do cool s@%t.

Because we do.

So why are there no “Workouts of the Day?”

Because our workouts are pieces of a progression – a progression that is designed to get you to specific GOALS.

While doing gnarly random s@$t is fun, reaching your goals is even better.

I mean, aren’t your specific goals the reason you joined in the first place?!?

And you think some random WOD with no clear progression but just some gnarly exercises strung together is going to get you to your SPECIFIC goal?

HA!

Reaching your goals is about considering all the variables.

If you want to deadlift more, you can’t simply do deadlifts every day.

If you want to lose weight, it isn’t simply about calories in vs. out.

So reaching your fitness goal is about simply doing some “workout of the day!”

At Innovative Results, we create a plan, a progression – a way to take you from where you are now to where you want to be.

That doesn’t mean you are going to be stuck doing the same old boring routine day after day though!

When many people think, “progression” or even “workout program” as opposed to doing a “workout of the day,” people think about doing the same thing over and over again.

But that isn’t the case.

We progress clients through different workouts that constantly challenge and test them.IR boot camp workout

We drag chains and push sleds. We swing kettlebells and do pull ups off bars and ropes.

We lift heavy things and run and jump and play.

We challenge people to go beyond what they thought possible and do exercises they’ve never seen before.

Progression doesn’t mean boring.

It just means you have a plan.

Stop by Innovative Results and trade in your WOD for a progression that will get you real results.

Your Why Keeps You Motivated

June 11, 2011 by ptpt Leave a Comment

Your are doing incredible!

How are you feeling?

Are you motivated?

Now is when YOU will dig deep and discover the “thing” or “why” that is going to keep you motivated through this next month.

Setting small goals is a great way to keep that motivational flame burning.

In our experience at Innovative Results, if someone has a specific goal that stems from a specific reason client success rates are off the charts amazing!

It’s extremely easy for each of us to say, “I want to lose weight,” or “I need to tone-up,” but its the deeper underlying reason for these goals that will keep you driving forward.

Have you ever started a task, new workout program or hobby with enthusiasm and promise only to become disinterested, discouraged and not motivated?

Sure you have, we all have!  But did you ever think about why you wanted to do those things in the first place?

Gym in Costa Mesa, CA

Today we are going to ask you to truly think about what your goals are for this month, and more importantly the WHY’s behind the goals you are setting.

WHY do you want to lose weight?

WHY do you want to move with more mobility and strength?

WHY do you want to improve your health?

What is it this time that is going to keep YOU from giving up at the first signs of fear, exhaustion, pain/soreness, or lack of immediate results?

Let’s give ourselves a direction today, so YOU can see results!

IR calls them SMART Goals, and here is how they work:

How to Write Goals, and Then Accomplish Them

How Did Chris Get That Six Pack?

January 31, 2010 by ptpt 1 Comment

How many hours are you on the computer?

I live in Irvine and met Corey Beasley, owner of Innovative Results, at a business networking event. Coincidentally we lived in the same neighborhood.

I am a graphic designer and typically spend 6-12 hours per day in front of the computer. I had just finished up a 3 month boot camp that got me in cardio shape, but now I wanted to build muscle because I was just cast in a musical called the “Full Monty” .  If you know the story, you’d realize that I would be spending much of my time in a pair of boxers. That alone is a pretty good motivation to get the the gym, but I only had 3 months to develop a show stopping physique! Corey and I were up to the challenge!

In addition to pushing me 5 days a week in the gym, Corey also instructed me on how to eat properly for my specific goals and monitored my diet.  For the first time in my life I didn’t resist going to the gym, in fact, it became the highlight of my day, 5 days a week! When you put in that type of effort, the diet comes naturally because you want to do everything you can to support your hard work and achieve the results

3 months later, by the time the show opened, I was looking better than ever had and the audience response was most flattering.  I added close to 15 pounds of new muscle and developed a killer, attention getting six pack. This was not only good for my show, but also helped by the pool all summer long.

It has been a year now and i continue to train 5 days a week and I continue to achieve goals and enjoy the process!  I can’t wait to see what happens this year!
