If you are like the majority of us here at Orange County’s Fitness Playground, you are plotting out your incredible 2018 adventures!
In the never-ending pursuit of an improved quality of life, our Innovative Results Team has been working hard to build a 2018 Active Lifestyle calendar for our clients, community, coaches and staff. This calendar includes new workshops, educational opportunities, outdoor adventures, and charity workouts, just to name a few!
First up in 2018, we have an incredible opportunity for everyone looking to spend a little more time outdoors this year.
On January 6th, 2018, Innovative Results will be hosting not only our first event of the New Year, but our very first event of its kind (at The Fitness Playground).
A 2-Hour Backpacking and Outdoor Travel Workshop, with bonus (aka optional) overnight trip to Joshua Tree!
Hosted by ‘urban-dweller turned outdoor educator and adventurer’ Jeremy Blanco (read more about Jeremy below), and Innovative Results’ very own Aubrie Pohl, this workshop is aimed to educate and empower new ways for its attendees to experience the great outdoors.
What will be covered during the 2-Hour Workshop?
– How to prepare for any outdoor hike or excursion
– How to pack
– Gear, attire and travel recommendations
– Tips for making your next outdoor adventure, your BEST outdoor adventure
– Meditation, breathing and yoga practices
– And much more!
Ready to put your newfound knowledge to the test under the guidance and support of both Jeremy & Aubrie?!
Jeremy and Aubrie have added an *Optional* Overnight Trip for no additional fee.
This is not included in the price of the workshop, and free for you to attend. (You will need to provide your own supplies, including food and water). If you are interested in joining the overnight hike at Joshua Tree, the details of this event will be sent via email and covered at the workshop. *Workshop attendance is required to attend Overnight Trip to Joshua Tree, and departure will be at the conclusion of the 2-hour workshop.

Meet Jeremy Blanco:
I am Jeremy, an urban dweller turned avid outdoor educator and adventurer after an eventful weekend trip to Yosemite Valley. Since then I received a degree in Sociology and Environmental Studies, taught at an outdoor science school, led conservation teams into the back-country, directed a summer camp in Japan, and of course have spent every other moment learning various outdoor skills from mentors, coworkers, and fellow backpackers, now becoming a bit of a multi-tool.
I love dabbling in different mindsets and cultures through outdoor rec trips such as swimming in lakes, trail and snow marathons, barbecuing of course, art, and a specialty in backpacking and traveling by bicycle. These passions and modes of life have led to the jungles of Peru, the windy glaciers of Patagonia, drinking yak milk in the Himalayas feeling like death, calling of a final summit push on a dream backcountry snowboard project in Japan, walking into a blowfish while spearfishing off the coast of Panama, and other stories involving culture, luck, and hardship.
This was directly possible because of a few reasons I’d like to talk to you about at the workshop and pass along some tricks of the trade that are surely going to be impactful for you as they have been for me to this point.
