A Special Message from Coach Aubrie

December 11, 2018 by Jessica 1 Comment

To my Innovative Results FAMILY,

THANK YOU.

Thank you for spending reps, sets, hours, moments, and memories with me throughout the last 4 years as we shared opportunities to expand our paradigms of movement, strength, purpose, goals, lifestyle, and friendship. Thank you for allowing me to guide you through an hour of your day to help you contribute to your success both in the gym and out. Thank you for listening with intention to reach towards your own greatest potential. Thank you for the laughs, the sweat, the challenges, the learning, and the pure human connection.

My transformation at Innovative Results has grown me to a space where I feel more comfortable sharing with others, speaking my voice, and forming the impact that I see myself making in this world. IR has been a catalyst that has launched me into the world of leadership, coaching, and truly feeling what its like to be the change that I want to see. I have learned, at very deep levels, what it means to connect with people and lead them to their own inner power with compassion, diligence, PLAY, and maybe a little pressure or tough love sometimes. (hehe :))

It is with sad news and almost trembling hands that I am announcing my leave from the playground. As committed to personal growth and transformation as I am, I have decided to move forward towards my next adventure in life.

Rest assured, the CORE SYSTEM of Innovative Results is what creates coaches like myself. I am a product of an amazing structure, progression, and educational development program that challenges coaches in multifaceted ways to strive further than ever before. The growth that IR coaches move through as they participate in their own leadership develops the foundation that I exude. You are in great hands still, my friend.

I appreciate your time, effort, encouragement, communication, connection, and love throughout these last 4 years. Keep being you because you are amazing and full of beautiful potential that this world needs.

Thank you!

Meet Jeremy Blanco:

I am Jeremy, an urban dweller turned avid outdoor educator and adventurer after an eventful weekend trip to Yosemite Valley. Since then I received a degree in Sociology and Environmental Studies, taught at an outdoor science school, led conservation teams into the back-country, directed a summer camp in Japan, and of course have spent every other moment learning various outdoor skills from mentors, coworkers, and fellow backpackers, now becoming a bit of a multi-tool.

I love dabbling in different mindsets and cultures through outdoor rec trips such as swimming in lakes, trail and snow marathons, barbecuing of course, art, and a specialty in backpacking and traveling by bicycle. These passions and modes of life have led to the jungles of Peru, the windy glaciers of Patagonia, drinking yak milk in the Himalayas feeling like death, calling of a final summit push on a dream backcountry snowboard project in Japan, walking into a blowfish while spearfishing off the coast of Panama, and other stories involving culture, luck, and hardship.

This was directly possible because of a few reasons I’d like to talk to you about at the workshop and pass along some tricks of the trade that are surely going to be impactful for you as they have been for me to this point.

Benefits of Recovery, and How to Effectively Implement Meditation

October 23, 2017 by Jessica 7 Comments

Amanda Clover, Active Recovery, Innovative Results, Orange County Fitness Playground, Orange County yoga, yogaBy Coach Aubrie Pohl

Mindset. Movement. RECOVERY.

When is your next planned recovery day?

Your body needs to rebuild.
To enhance performance, utilize rest days, and PLAN recovery days.
Recovery is not quite the same as a rest day.

As we allow our body to rest, we accept the action of non-doing and recuperate our nervous system to feel awake.
Recovery is implementing actions and techniques to maximize your body’s repair. This includes proper nutrition, hydration, stretching, self-myofascial release, ice and heat, stress management, intentional breathing, and many other methods that travel deeper than just muscular repair.

Recovery involves repairing the mindset to accept more positivity, diligence, and healing.

It allows one to communicate to their body and re-invigorate torn and fatigued muscle tissue.

Recovery is intentional and integrated effort that should seep into our daily lives to enhance longevity and durability.

* Eat nutrient dense meals to give yourself the proper amount of protein, carbohydrates, fats, and micronutrients that will aid in fueling your body for greater performance and faster recovery. A mindful diet will keep your energy clean, reduce feelings of sluggishness, and clear brain fog. Stay away from processed foods and toxins as much as possible.
* Drink enough water for your urine to be close to clear! Water helps all our internal functions. You will experience more energy, softer skin, and contribute to the well being of your internal organs.
* Stretching and mobility movements will communicate to your nervous system to expand passive and active range of motion in your body.
* Self-myofascial release are techniques and methods of using tools to help heal tissue, release tension, and regenerate elasticity in your muscles.
* Ice and Heat help calm down superficial tissues that are inflamed and release muscular stiffness. Ice baths and whole body ice therapy have lately been proven to be extremely beneficial to overall tissue vitality.
* Stress management is important to regulate our sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) response and attend to the parasympathetic (rest and digest) response during recovery days. Calm your mind, understand what thoughts are serving you no purpose, and develop more positive neuroplasticity training in your daily life.
* Breathing is both unconscious and conscious. Breathing practices have been used around the world as methods of regulating internal processes, strengthening the lungs, and promoting meditative states and concentration to calm the body.

Tune in to the recovery of your body, and to the recovery of your mind as well.

What image pops into your head when you hear the word meditation?

Is it an image of one individual sitting cross-legged on the ground, with their eyes closed?

Does that image deter you from scheduling the time for “meditation”?

What if, I told you there was a way for you to easily implement meditation into your daily life?
You see, meditation does not have any regulations other than one, to be entirely present in the moment at hand.

Meditation can be accomplished while standing, sitting, running, riding, dancing, and during any other physical stance.

Just breathe, and focus on your inhales and exhales.
Allow yourself to be saturated with the present moment and let the moments before hand and the predictions of the future journey into the ether where they belong.
Tune in, to the NOW.

For just a moment, allow all your stressors to be released, feelings of the past and future to leave, and only experience what is in front of you.

That is meditation, and without those restricted predicaments of when meditation is “supposed” to happen, you can now see the limitless possibilities of when to experience this deeper sensation of life.

It is when you choose to let your monkey mind be still, wherever you are.

The effects of meditation expand and spread through the rest of your life, especially in stages of recovery.

Experience the benefits of body and mind recovery immediately after you start implementing these practices into your daily life.

Still in Great Hands: Innovative Results Keeps Moving Forward with New Owner

April 10, 2017 by Jessica 7 Comments

IMG_1794

When was the last time you heard laughter and squeals of delight at the gym? And not from the mouths of babes at the daycare section? At Costa Mesa’s Innovative Results The Fitness Playground, fun is always to be expected from a workout session. Having a sense of play is built in to training sessions. Whether it’s simulating knife fights with DIY foam weapons, dribbling soccer balls inside a magic square, or bouldering on the newly erected rock climbing wall, no workout is ever a bore.

What makes these exciting exercises even more enjoyable is the people who are doing them with you. With a close-knit, team-like atmosphere during group training sessions, clients are improving their health and enjoying it in the process. The Innovative Results’ coaching team consistently improves upon their health and fitness philosophy of Mindset, Movement, and Recovery through various educational workshops to deliver the most current, functional, and safe techniques in fitness and wellness, and the best and most useful information in nutrition. Innovative Results intends to continue its growing legacy with a new owner who himself has been a long-time client: Harrel Carman. Under his leadership, Carman wants more of everything that makes Innovative Results the beloved household name in Orange County fitness.

2014-12-16 15.38.56

Harrel Carman: Dedicated to More

Innovative Results’ new owner, Harrel Carman, is much like Los Angeles’ Angels of Anaheim Coach, Mike Scioscia. Scioscia had a successful career as a catcher for the Dodgers. He parlayed his experience and expertise into coaching the Angels. Much like Scioscia, Carman’s path towards being Innovative Results’ new owner has been paved with dedication to sports and athleticism, and building and improving relationships.

Carman has long been passionate about physical fitness. He has competed in Baseball, Football, Basketball, Tennis, and Track & Field. He still plays Basketball most Saturday mornings and has been playing in Flag Football tournaments with the same team for over 15 years. Carman also regularly competes in Kettlebell Sport events and has won many medals lifting the 32kg kettlebell in the Men’s 85kg bodyweight division. Such an admirable commitment to physical health is actually grounded in a promise to others. Carman says, “Since I was young, maybe around 5 or 6 years old, I decided to begin working for my ‘future family.’ My dedication to my own health and fitness is my dedication to the family I have now, as well as when my family begins to grow (no kids yet, but eventually). I want to enjoy my kids, be able to play with them. Be able to roll around on the ground and play with my grandkids even. I want to be an example, through my own dedications, to my family, friends, and community.”

His active lifestyle is further complemented by a background in personal training, one that Carman has continued to expand over the last ten years. He has completed certifications in NASM, Functional Range Conditioning, Onnit Battle Ropes and Steel Clubs, Orange Kettlebell Club, SCUBA, and CPR. Carman’s favorite aspect of personal training was “how I got to interact with other people. Helping them learn more about themselves and the strength they have inside them.”

Innovative Results Owner Harrel Carman & wife, Julianne.

This knack for building people up has been a key component in Carman’s success in business. He has managed and run several businesses ranging from a financial company, to construction, to the Kumon tutoring center that he owns with his wife, Julianne. “I’ve found team-building to be the most important aspect of having a successful business,” asserts Carman. “Describing the ‘perfect’ team isn’t possible for me, since every business’ needs are different. However, the team currently at Innovative Results was a big factor in my decision to purchase the business. Without this incredible team, I don’t think I’d have been interested. I’m so excited to become a part of this awesome team and to bring even more energy and enthusiasm to continue Innovative Results’ vision moving forward.”

Continuing to Transform: A Better Quality of Life for Everyone

In the ten years that Harrel Carman has been a client of Innovative Results, he has seen the positive influence that Orange County’s Fitness Playground has had on its members and the surrounding community. He says, “I love the passion that’s brought every day and the dedication that Innovative Results coaches show to our clients!”. Innovative Results’ mission is: “Improve quality of life through diligent change and growth, dedication to the basics, and service to our community.” Former owner Aaron Guyett built a solid coaching team that is enthusiastic and genuine about making an impact on each and every person that walks through Innovative Results’ doors. Numerous client reviews on social media attest to incredible transformations in physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Each Innovative Results trainer truly embodies the coveted title emblazoned on the back of their black and gray shirts: coach. Aubrie Pohl and Dane Fernandez are two coaches who are there for clients at any point in their journey towards wellness, whether it be providing a modification or giving encouragement during a workout, or answering nutrition questions outside of the gym.

Carman is eager for what lies ahead. “My current vision for Innovative Results is to keep it moving in the same direction it has been over the years. I don’t have any visions of making drastic changes.” Carman elaborates: “It’s why I’m so excited for this opportunity. The current culture is so freaking fun, why change it? The only thing I really want to do, is take everything that Innovative Results is and make it more. More opportunities for our coaches to learn/grow, more tools for our clients to reach their goals, more more more! I hope through our commitment to bettering the lives of our clients, we can reach more and more of those in our community to do the same.”

What Happens When You Are Overeating and Undereating?

April 25, 2016 by ptpt 3 Comments

2014-03-15 07.07.02By Aubrie Pohl

Think about a specific nutrition “rule” or “guideline” you follow.

Where did you learn it?

Was it from someone else or your own experience?

What effects have you noticed?

Were you overeating or undereating?

One of the most frequent requests I receive as a trainer/coach/friend/yogi is to create an exact meal plan one can follow.

If I could calculate the amount of hours I have spent on trying DIFFERENT plans on my own body, it would probably be well over 1,000.

The human balance is in a constant state of chaos.
Something that worked 5 years ago for you, might not even affect you now.

I’ve thought hard about how to summarize the essential tips on how to find a perfect balance in your life between fitness, food, and hydration to make it seem really easy, but I concluded that that’s almost impossible.

What is possible?
Creating a deeper relationship with yourself.

The perfect plan for you might not be completely clear to you at the moment, but with a daily check-in to your own body, you will develop a plan that best suits your needs, energy levels, and lifestyle.

First Things First, Eat Clean.healthy food collage

Our body is only as efficient as the nutrition we supply.

If you are not eating clean, it will be difficult to figure out if you are under fueling or over fueling.

Eat clean FIRST, and usually that will help you tune in to your body’s needs to fuel correctly.

A few major guidelines can help us make steps towards success!

1. Whole, unprocessed foods will deliver the most macronutrients and micronutrients for our system to reach its optimal level.

2. Notice how your body responds after certain foods.

3. Try eliminating gluten for a week, dairy for a week, meat for a week, and focus on how your energy levels change. Sometimes we have food intolerances that we do not even know about!

4. Drink half your weight in ounces of water.

5. Eat out less and cook at home more, where you have complete control of all ingredients and portion sizes.

Eating clean helps your body clean out the processed junk and start fueling on foods that will help you flourish!

Small changes over time WILL add up to make a big difference towards improving your quality of life.

Under Fueled and Under-performing

When our body isn’t supplied with enough proper calories (energy) we experience symptoms of under fueling.

Our body fails to thrive.core exercise - sidewinder

Mood changes like irritability, depression, and the inability to concentrate can affect us in our daily lives outside the gym.

During our workouts, every energy system gets drained.

You feel weak.
You can’t last a whole workout without feeling depleted.
You’re losing weight.
The thought of aerobic capacity seems like a monotonous task.
You’ve lost motivation.

These are all signs that your body is not being properly fueled.

Over Fueled and Overflow

If our body is prospering from clean foods but reaches its caloric (energy) intake capacity, we will start to experience symptoms of over fueling.

Yes, you can get too much of a good thing.

The energy we put into our bodies and the energy we expend are measured in calories.

You feel heavy and sluggish when you walk.
Your strength increases.
Your aerobic capacity has downgraded and you undergo labored breathing.
You gain weight.

A surplus of calories can help the body increase musculature strength, but giving the body more than it can absorb for energy will keep it functioning sub par overall.

A Constant State of Flux

Since we are continuously learning, shifting, developing, and rearranging our lives, our bodies get sent through those same phases.kid stuffing face

Some days might have more movement than others.

Some days may have more rest.

If our lives are full of fluctuations, shouldn’t our diet be the same?

Our bodies will most certainly tell us we should eat more on days with more movement, when we are burning more calories (energy).

On days we rest, we do not need as much food (fuel).

Knowing the difference between hunger, when our body NEEDS fuel, and appetite, when our minds WANTS food, is the key to developing the deeper relationship to our internal world.

Take the time every day to let your thoughts settle, and notice if you have any signs of under fueling or over fueling.

Over time your body will reach a comfortable fuel balance, and you will experience peak performance, enduring energy, and a greater quality of life.

6 Keys to Improving Your Physical Health

April 3, 2016 by ptpt 1 Comment

By Aubrie Pohl

-A constant lethargic feeling.lethargic
–Achy joints and tired muscles.
-A lack of motivation and desire.
-Sitting down for more hours than standing.
-Feeling like you are capable of so much more.

These are all characteristics of a less-than optimal health.

Our physical state of health can affect every aspect of our life.

Human bodies are incredible.

Do you ever think about how much your body loves you?

Your body is always adapting and accommodating to the situation at hand.
Constantly healing.

Constantly trying to make your life easier for you.

It will get strong if you start strength training.

It will continue to breathe when you don’t even think about breathing!

However, our bodies will only work at their optimal level if we do our part to keep them in the healthiest condition that we can.

There are many ways of improving your physical health, so we can make great steps towards an improved quality of life!

Here are the 6 Keys to Improving Your Physical Health:

1. Movementvictoria anthony collage

We are born to move.

Our bodies love movement.
Without it, our joints ache, our bodies inflame, and we experience pain and weakness.

With every push, pull, reach, stretch, twist, jump, lift, and dance our bodies reciprocate and strengthen, lengthen, expand, open, and grow towards their greatest potential.

Most of our modern day jobs require us to sit for hours at a time, performing robotic motions and allowing our bodies to be stagnant. But they yearn for the freeing sensation of muscles contracting and expanding, of giving and receiving.

Encourage yourself to move on a regular basis, freely and openly, in whatever way feels best.

Even if that means circling your shoulders in line at the grocery store.
Stretching your legs while watching TV.
Twisting your spine as you lay in bed.
Moving your body is always an option.
Feeling better is ALWAYS an option.

2. Nutrient rich, Unprocessed, Living Foods.binderlayingopen_550x634

Your body takes the food you eat and breaks down the food into the macronutrients and micronutrients you need, then reassembles those into your cells to provide you with the energy that allows you to thrive and grow towards your optimal being.

However, your body is only as efficient as the material it has to work with.

The quality of food you send into your body can have a powerful effect on your mental clarity, your ability to perform, and your overall function.

The “Standard American Diet”, also known as SAD…. is sad!

Highly processed foods and a portion distortion leave our bodies critically short of nutrients our bodies crave.
Everybody is different, but we all have an intuitive wisdom that allows the fibers of our being to send us signals of true wellness.
Notice the way your body and energy levels respond after eating certain foods.

So what should you eat?

Eat foods with no labels.
More nutrient dense fruits, vegetables, lean meats.
Less sugary, carbohydrate dense processed foods.
Shop only around the perimeter of the grocery store.
Eat without distractions and notice how foods make you feel.
If you see a food that is not something your great-grandparents ate when they were young, disregard it.
Drink water all day, every day.

After all, a healthy outside starts from the inside.

3. Sunshinesun

A little sunshine every day can boost your mood and serotonin levels, our happy hormone.

If we allow our bodies to absorb a healthy amount of Vitamin D through the sun, we can prevent illnesses that occur from Vitamin D deficiency.

The sun also warms our muscles to reduce inflammation and stiffness.
a small 15 minute walk through the sunshine can do wonders for your body and mind!

Your body will tell you when you’ve had enough sun, turning a shade of pink or feeling warm to the touch.

So go outside for a healthy amount of sun and feel healthier!

4. Sleep

Our hasty, task-filling lifestyle has the ability to distract us from getting enough sleep.
We get caught up in our busy lives, and sacrifice sleep to get more things done.

Our body revitalizes itself during sleep.
Sleep is as vital to sustaining a healthy, energetic life as eating, drinking, and breathing!

Allow your body a restful night and experience yourself feeling attentive, refreshed, and more prepared to challenge your day, so you can live your full potential.

Even a short nap during the day can reinvigorate your system to take on the rest of the day!

Develop an intimate relationship with your body to discover the amount of sleep that you need, and feel your energy increase!

5. Less Chemicals

Living a life with less chemical additives can have a profound effect on your well-being.

Hand soap, shampoos, perfumes, make up, lotions, deodorants, air fresheners, and many other products can potentially contain dangerous chemicals that can disrupt your body’s functions.

As you educate yourself about what products your body is absorbing, you will be able to make conscious decisions on how to lessen the amount of toxins you take in and discover better-for-you options.

6. Positive Actions

Instilling our actions in forward momentum will allow us to continue on a path of self-transformation and success to make our lives more meaningful and satisfying.

By taking the right steps in the right direction, positive actions become intentional activities that manifest more motivation, happiness, and improved life conditions.

Mindfully build good habits, pursue goals, endeavor to live the life you have imagined and you can confidently move in the direction of your highest potential!

In fact, a change of behavior can alter how we think and feel.

Even our poses and demeanor have the potential to change the chemical make-up of our bodies.
Smile and you will feel happier!

Stand tall with your chest out and you will assert confidence!

At any moment, you have the power to construct your decisions and actions towards an improved quality of life.

Specifically your physical and mental well being will improve. It is the missing factor to complete our list of activities. This article is all about the benefits of yoga.

Specifically Eischen’s yoga flow, or any introductory yoga flow, will introduce the subject to a concise and simple progression.

The living, breathing, growing personification of yoga is the mental practice.

Can we stay in one place for an indefinite amount of time?
Can we learn to sync our breathing with our ever focused and controlled movements and intentions?

The epitome of this spiritual practice is learning to meditate and disconnect from distractions. If we can forget about our task list and our mobile devices for a successful hour of meditation and inward focus then we can achieve the mental aspect that yoga is trying to offer us all. The first item that any distraction will tear us away from will be the most basic involuntary movement in our body is breathing. Getting oxygen in and out of our lungs is essential for keeping our heart beating and our nervous system functioning as well as every other process in the body, but it is also the most powerful discipline in basic meditation.

We can all do a simple test right now.IMG_20150420_113021

Start by closing your eyes, after you read this, then focus on your breath for 5 long deep inhales through your nose with sealed lips followed by 5 even longer exhales out of your mouth.

When you opened your eyes and came back to this article, did you feel any different?
Did you feel more in control of your breathing and more care-free about your surroundings?

That is exactly what yoga is. Allowing the practitioner to ground themselves, bringing the stress levels down and regulate their stress hormone levels and clear their mind as they get more in tune and listen to their bodies.

The term for that breath is Ujjayi, which is the common thread sewing all types of yoga practice together. Yoga will only offer a progression in certain postures if your body agrees with them at the specific time you are practicing them.

Every time we step into our yoga practice space, we start with a brief assessment of our bodies.

Eischen’s yoga begins with some simple postures to mobilize the joints and bring blood flow to our tissues as well as activate certain muscle groups that are necessary to hold a posture. His flow begins with the general quadruped pose progressing to a standing “mountain pose” and all of the fundamental yoga postures such as warrior poses and chaturanga flow. These are restorative postures that can be held for long enough periods of time to where you are in a meditative state allowing the specific cells and tissues needed to adjust.

Each yoga posture can always be altered to what your body needs that day and should be regressed to what is safe and healthy, completely avoiding pain and discomfort. Eischen’s progressions have the full gamut of restorative techniques and are all ancient yoga practice postures that encourage the entire spine, the shoulder blades, hips, knees, ankles, feet, elbows, and wrists to reset and receive good oxygenated blood.

When you put your body through that kind of a flow, you are rinsing out toxins from your organs and glands. Flowing through basic yoga progressions also opens up dormant neuro-pathways and promotes a healthier connection for your synapses helping out the entire sympathetic nervous system.

Every single person on this earth can benefit from a simple regression of these basic yoga fundamentals in one way or another. Whether it is mental clarity and a state of calmness that you receive from an elementary yoga flow, or that you breathe and explore how your body responds to certain healthy postures and benefit mechanically from unlocking certain movements in your body, we can all use it. I strongly encourage anyone and everyone, especially the more sedentary population all the way through to the highly active population to incorporate yoga in their weekly activities.

Dedicate Time to Heal To Speed Recovery – Three Techniques

As a fitness coach at the best gym in Orange County, we have clients that need to dedicate time to heal, so they can experience relief, improve body adaptations, and speed recovery.

Without proper recovery, the body will generate a buildup of stress.

This can create pain, joint restriction, muscle tension, tightness, discomfort, and fatigue.

These experiences will hinder your progress.

When your body doesn’t heal, you can alter your muscular-skeletal structure and notice mechanical inefficiency.

The great news is, there are actions of remedies!

If you need three ways to dedicate time to heal and recover, check out these three ways we can heal our bodies: Soft Tissue Manipulation, Temperature, and Activation.

Soft Tissue Manipulation
There is a continuous and seamless web of tissue under your skin.

It surrounds and connects the muscles, organs, bones, and is present from the top of your head to the bottoms of your feet.

It is called fascia.orange county personal trainer teaching recovery, self myofascial release, and stretching

Fascia can become restricted through injury, stress, overtraining, and poor posture.

The increase in tension can bring muscle spasms, pain, and a lack of range of motion!

A very effective method of recovery for this is soft tissue manipulation.

Using tools such as foam rollers, tennis balls, and lacrosse balls for manual massage can allow the fascia that is stuck to other fascia to let go.

Soft tissue manipulation will allow for better circulation and better functioning of the muscles.

When the muscle tissue is pulled on in different directions, the tissue will become more supple and will work better.

Implementing myofascial release in your routine is a positive action towards restoring tissue health in your body, so you can move better and feel better.

Temperature
The concept is simple, and the benefits are great!

Regulating certain temperatures on the body can help with the rehabilitation and recovery of the muscle tissues.

Try taking contrast showers, switching from hot to cold water.

The hot water gets the blood flowing and then the cold water will send the blood to protect the internal organs from the cold.

Basically, contrast showers will improve the circulation of blood and allow for a quicker recovery.

They improve lymphatic circulation and blood circulation to detox the body and make the organs work better due to the blood that gets forced into them from the cold.

The temperature change stimulates the nervous system, circulatory system, and immune system to reduce Delayed Onset Muscle Syndrome and increase recovery.

Ice packs, ice baths, and thermal blankets are other sources of temperature tools to aid in healing the muscles and decreasing pain and dysfunction.

Activation
Although it takes place during a workout, activation is an essential action for recovery.

Before performing strength exercises, making sure to “light up” the muscles that you will use to allow your body to warm up before expending a force output.

Activation prevents injury, because contracting muscles during a strength exercise that are not activated or warmed up puts the joints and muscles at risk for sprains, tears, and sometimes breaks!

When properly activated, the muscles can perform their best during the strength movement and can quickly recover without being overwhelmed.

3PM Crew

It is far better not to be hasty through the workout, and be honest with yourself about the quality of your warm ups.

Being careful will bring you progress faster, as opposed to frequently recovering from injuries.

As your muscle tissue gets healthier, you will feel better each and every day.

Dedicating time to aid your body in recovery will benefit you before, during, and after your workouts.

A Life Hack: Rest More to Accomplish More

August 23, 2015 by Jessica Leave a Comment

By Aubrie Pohl

You can feel the combination of motivation and your vision magnetizing you, pulling you toward your goal just as it is being drawn towards you.

You create a schedule, and set intention to the tasks you will accomplish to reach that goal.

Every day, you take the right steps in the right direction.

Training more, moving more, you feel the diligent effort adding up, allowing you to move better, look better, and feel better.

Then suddenly, fatigue sets in.

Your muscles grow weary, your mind becomes dull and you become perplexed about what happened.

Despite valiant effort to reach your greatest potential, the wisdom of your body was gently reminding you that you need to rest.

Put the Pep Back in your Step

In our lives we are often on the run and may not notice when our energy becomes drained.

Keeping your inner vision focused and following the path towards it undoubtedly displays integrity, but it can’t be sustained unless you nurture yourself.

If we go beyond our limits, we actually use more energy than we have and, essentially, operate on a deficit.

By using just a couple techniques for rest, we access powerful tools for revitalizing our bodies.

Stress Won’t Let You Rest!

Stress is one of the most debilitating and widespread conditions present in the world.

In fact, it is so common that we think it is normal.

Within the elaborate system of our bodies, our stress response evolved and developed as a survival mechanism during life-threatening situations.

However, nowadays humans are getting stressed about EVERYTHING.

Manifesting justifications to get stressed about situations or experiences, stress can hold you back in all aspects of life.

The body responds by slowing down digestion, suppressing the immune system, and causing a ruckus in the system, which will definitely prevent you from rest!

There’s good news!

The stress we commonly see is a fallacy, it is an irrational feeling, and you can manage stress into a tool that makes you stronger.

You can reduce the stress you experience through mindfulness of your thoughts and feelings, knowing that at any moment you are capable of relaxing.

Learning methods such as yoga and meditation will allow you to master your emotions and improve stress handling abilities.

[By the way, I teach yoga at Innovative Results! Tuesday & Wednesday at 11am, Thursday & Friday at 8pm :)]

Every individual is different, but finding a method to liberate from stress will in turn allow you to experience the rest you need.

Essential Slumber

When our lives become busy, sleep tends to be one of the first things we sacrifice.

We get caught up in the idea that by doing more we will get more done, so we stay up later and sleep less.

Decreasing an hour or two of slumber so we can increase our task list, and then we increase our caffeine intake to manipulate the body’s energy levels.

However, it is during sleep where the body revitalizes itself.

Sleep is as vital to sustaining a healthy, energetic life as eating, drinking, and breathing!

A night of ample sleep is a potent energizer, fostering a healthy body and a vibrant mind.

On the contrary, a lack of sleep creates a sluggish body and a foggy mind.

Give yourself the gift of a restful night and experience yourself feeling more refreshed, attentive, and ready for life’s challenges so you can live your full potential.

Knowing when to rest is as important as the work we do.

Today by seeking rest, you can rejuvenate yourself and improve your quality of life.
